I have a Radio Shack Pro 96 scanner -can't get south medic band

Most police stations are using the new motorola trunking units, they are on encrypted custom band channels and you will not be able to hear them. All police helicopters are equipped with them. All i can hear where i live is Fire dispatch, I cant even hear the fire fighters responses .

You may have to activate the attenuator

Hi John. Try using the "attenuation" feature on your radio. Since you are so close to the tower, it sounds like your radio may be getting overloaded by the strong signals.

they might of changed to a different freq

Unfortuantly the pro-82 is not a trunked scanner, it's only a vhf/uhf scanner and cannot pickup trunked systems. You need to replace it with atleast a pro-95 to pick up trunked systems. If you need your manual for the pro-82 follow this link.

The very part of your scanner that makes it a scanner is inop. YOU can find it but IT won't scan. Back to radio shack for warranty before they change their mind.

sens. is do to bad tuneing on a signal generator have the radio tech re-do the ifs till thay get it right!!! and settle for nuthing lessa tuned radio to a tuned ANTENA a (mach made in heaven)
