To locate the filter: Shut unit off. Remove "bucket". You should find a "tab" at top of where bucket goes in middle front of unit. Pull down to remove tab of Filter. Clean thoroughly and dry Filter before re installation. Visually inspect the coils and condenser while filter is out ( a flashlight helps). If it looks slightly dusty or like covered in felt, then it would be wise to remove front and rear covers and give the coils and condenser a thorough cleaning.

My dehumidifier continually runs and removes little water. I cleaned the front filter and the manual says to clean the back filter but I can't get to the back filter. How can I reach it to clean it?

The motor runs but no water collects in the bucket. olfi've had it running for hours.. please help. it's only 13 mod p

mempandora, the humidity level that you set on the unit may be to high. In which case the unit will only maintain that level, rather than remove any moisture/humidity. Lower the setting to 35% or minimal, if your unit does not have an LED display. In addition, the air intake filter probably needs cleaning and the coolant coils need to be wiped down and cleaned. The latter is the only part that will require some partial dismantling of the dehumidifier's cabinet. Also, it is imperative, to maintain a minimum of 12" clear air space all around the unit. And finally, the ambient air temperature at floor level may be affecting the operation. If the temperature is between 40 & 60 degrees F, the unit struggles to sense humidity. This is particularly true in a basement. As, the air at the floor is colder than the air temperature.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

I have a Whirlpool AD75UST humidifier that stopped running, almost like it blew a fuse or something. Does it have a fuse somewhere? Any other possibilities? Thank you!

Have you checked the receptacle it's plugged into, to see if it's still working? Use an electric lamp to check this. If the lamp doesn't work, the circuit breaker in the home's main panel has been tripped. Unplug the dehumidifier and reset the circuit breaker. Then plug the dehumidifier back in. If it trips the circuit breaker again, there's an electrical problem within the dehumidifier.

In answer to your direct question ... some dehumidifiers have a reset switch. It's probably on the back of the unit, above the water collection tub. if all else fails consult your Owners Manual's Trouble Shooting Guide. If you have misplaced it, you can download it from the Whirlpool Appliance starting at their home page.

Hope this helped head you in the right direction to solving your problem.
