I have 2010 maps on a SD card for my Nuvi. Does

If you already have a map on your unit, you will have both maps. You may have to enable the map on the SD card. At the main menu, press the wrench symbol, then the map icon and then "map info". You should see all of your maps that are available to your unit. Make sure that the square boxes next to each map are checked. Thats how you turn on/off (selct) each map. If the SD card map isn't working, make sure it has a unlock code assigned to the map or it won't work on your unit. Also, the map file name on an SD card is different than the name on your unit. - Jim

No detailed maps found that support routing

reason being you may not have an SD card inserted with maps otherwise your maps have been deleted. try running the map update on the unit and it should reinstall the maps for you... if the SD card is not missing you may have a faulty SD card or SD card slot.

Missing SD Map Card on Magellan Roadmate 1212

Unfortunately even if you do find a card it will not work with your unit because the cards have to be for that unit.If it is from another unit the codes will not allow it to work. The only option I know of is to purchase your map for that unit and put it on a sd card

Fine drive 400 map data files

you can buy a 1gb sd card but then you have to get matching map data files, if you know someone with the same unit you could try copiying their data but it has to be the same date or you will get an error. the files themselves are too big to email or post online in most sites.

I created a repair DVD with both the firmware update and last map update issued by fine digital before closing in the US and leaving us all high and dry. there is a company called C&C wireless that sells a similar dvd for $109. I sell mine on ebay for $18 plus shipping. will be posting one there this week.

Europe maps microSD card problems

You didn't mention where you live. If you live in the US and you have the SD card with the Europe maps plugged in, it's going to grab the Europe map first. Try going into set-up by clicking on the wrench symbol, then the maps symbol and then "map info". You should see your original map and the europe map. uncheck the europe map to get back your original map. This screen allows you to toggle between both maps.

Add Europe sd card to Garmin 660

No. When you plug in the SD card, the Nuvi will load the map from your SD card. Once you get to the main menu, select the wrench symbol, then the map symbol and then "map info". You should see both the US and Europe map. Make sure the Europe map is checked. You can uncheck the US map. This is how you switch between maps. The reason why you have to have the extra map on the SD card is because the Nuvi can only have one map on it's internal drive, one at a time.

However, backing up your US map is a good idea.

Good luck,

Pop up screen

Do you have an sd card installed with mapping data on it ( a folder named garmin)? Or a defective sd card?
I had this error with a copied map, seems to be an issue with a wrong or missing *.unl file, which is an unlock file for unlocking map data

Putting maps on sd memory card

(Untried)
For C330 owners that want to have both Canada and US 2008 map update on their GPS this is what you have to do.

Must have:
1 - Street pilot C330

2 - 512mb SD card
3 - SD card reader of some form (some cameras will suffice)
4 - Garmin 2008 Map Update North America

What to DO:

1 - connect the GPS to the computer
2 - Insert the Map update disk
3 - Install the Lower 48 states, United States
(Reason - the C330 has around 1000mb of memory and the "US 48 states" map uses around 900mb" while Canada uses 400mb...which is why you will need that 512mb SD card later)

4 - Once the GPS is updated with the US map. Browse the Map update disk contents. This can be done with going to "My Computer" right click on your CD/DVD drive and click on "Explore"

5 - Open the folder called "img"

6 - Copy the file called "gmappromU.img" file is around 430mb. (This is the map file for Canada)

7 - Insert your SD card into your card reader and connect it to your computer. A window should pop up. If not you should see it on your "My Computer"

8 - Once you have navigated your way into the SD card directory. Create a folder on the SD card named "garmin" (no caps)

9 - Go into your newly created "garmin" folder right click and paste the "gmappromU.img" file. (This may take upto 20 to 30 mins)

10 - Once the process is complete, Rename the "gmappromU.img" file to --> "gmapsupp.img" (watch for spelling, no caps at all)

11 - Remove the SD card, Turn off your GPS, Insert SD card into GPS.

12 - Turn on GPS, let it load, and there you have it, the FULL North America Map.

When you are searching a state or province (depending where you are located) it will give you an option which map to use, Canada/Alaska or the lower 48 US states. Select your map and you are set to Go.
