My rainbow vacuum is the vacuum and air purifier in one. The vacuum/high speed works perfectly, but when I try to turn it on the lower setting to just clean the air, the vacuum won't turn on at all. What the problem?

SOURCE: Sharper Image GP Silent Air Purifier with Ionic Breeze s1730

i have 2 units, and had this same issue happen 3 times. Tonight it happened with a forth, last time i had to talk to management to get it replaced outside of warranty. Ionic breeze has major quality issues, and I would NOT buy anything else from sharper image. They also reduced the warranty from the original model drastically. for the price these were, they should be covered lifetime to show their commitment to their product. there is also a class action lawsuit against sharper image, for their false claims for the product...i believe sharper image chose to settle.

SOURCE: Red Cleaning Light won't turn off

If the cleaning light stays red it is do to a failure of the nichrome wire sensor that detects deposit build up. This wire is locatied in the center where the grids are removed and easily broken. It runs from top to bottom twice. Look inside and if you see a loose wire that looks like a fine thread that is your problem. Not a do it yourself job.

SOURCE: I have 2 ionic breeze air purifiers sharper image.(germical )

I have the same problem as gerardperez7. One of my germicidal light quadras won't turn the light on and doesn't appear to be cleaning the air at all. I even put a new light bulb in it and it doesn't fix the problem.

My rainbow isn't working properly anymore. The water is not spinning, suction seems to be still working, the water doesn't move much, the air is merely blowing on the water surface.

There may be a problem with the impeller or water flow system in your Rainbow air purifier. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check the impeller: The impeller is the part of the water flow system that rotates and creates the vortex that sucks in air and pollutants. It's possible that the impeller has become clogged or damaged, which would prevent it from spinning properly. Try removing the impeller and cleaning it thoroughly to see if this improves the water flow.
2. Check the water level: Make sure that the water level in the Rainbow is high enough to cover the bottom of the impeller. If the water level is too low, the impeller may not be able to rotate properly.
3. Check the air flow: If the air is not flowing through the water as strongly as it should be, there may be a problem with the motor or fan that powers the air flow. Try cleaning the motor and fan blades to see if this improves the air flow.
4. Check the water flow system: The water flow system in the Rainbow consists of a series of tubes and valves that regulate the water flow. Make sure that all of the tubes and valves are properly connected and functioning correctly.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you should contact Rainbow customer support for further assistance.

How do I clean the Rainmate?

Twist of stem from bottom, if excessive calcium or mineral deposits you can soak in vinegar. Keep hole in stem clean. Do not use harsh chemicals on any rainbow products it will compromise the materials. Vinegar should work.

Try to lubricate the fan bearings/bushings, it should help. If this does not help, check the repair price, or buy a new one

I cannot locate my manual and I am trying to figure out how to remove limescale/calcium carbonate from the unit. My humidifier is not part of the vacuum cleaner it is the smaller one that you sit on the...

with a wet or dry old tooth brush. use a firm one though. you can also dip in a solution of CLR mixed with water, then wip it dry. dont forget to clean the spicket by turning it counter clockwise and using a q-tip or baby bottle nipple brush . do this under running water. good luck

How much water to put in rainbow rainbow and should it blow out air

Fill the water in the basin to the top of the peg in the middle of the basin. (a little over an inch in the 2 quart basin) The Rainbow blows out air just like any other vacuum cleaner does throught the exhaust port. It will blow out there while the vacuum is running if the exhaust port cover is missing. Otherwise, with cover in place, it will blow out air all around the mid section of the canister while it is running.
