The serial no., product no., and billing count are stored at three locations; the MCU NVM PWB (IOT), the SEEP ROM (SYS1) on the Backplane (BP) PWB, and the ESS NVM PWB (SYS2). This procedure allows the data in all three locations to be synchronized in case of replacement of one of the PWBs, or due to data corruption associated with one of the following faults:

  • 124-324 (3 Billing Counter Mismatch)
124-325 (1 Billing Counter Mismatch; Unable to recover Billing Counter during recovery)
    124-312 (Product No. Mismatch)
    124-313 (Serial No. Mismatch)
124-310 (Product No. Failure: Not initialized)
  • 124-311 (Serial No. Failure: Not initialized)

Procedure

  1. Enter UI Diagnostic mode ( Accessing UI Diagnostics).
    Select Adjustment/Others.
    Select Machine ID/Billing Data Settings.
Select a PWB with the correct data.
    Select Start.
  2. Enter the correct serial number in the Serial Number screen and then select Confirm.

SOURCE: reset WorkCentre 24, Xerox

In menus you browse to the service tab, then serivice diagnostics. Go to NVRAM reset and perform the NVM reset.
Before you do that, print out a configuration page if you want to rememebr the network settings. It will set the IP address back to default also.

SOURCE: Xerox WC Pro 35 - Error 14-563

this code means your scanner has failed to setup correctly. this could be a problem that you would need a qualified tech to service the copier. there is nothing that you can do after you power off and power on (popo) the copier. it could be voltage, pwb board, or a binding scanner assembly.

SOURCE: workcentre c2424 is showing system error 39,003.40:117010

That is a document feed or scanner fault. Often times it is simply that molex connector working loose. It is the connector mounted vertically next to the main power cord on the right rear side of the machine. That bottom screw can be dificult to tighten. What I would try first is to shut the machine off, unscrew and disconnect that conntecot totally then firmly slide it in and get both the top and bottom screwss tight. Like I said, the bottom thumb screw can be hard to tighten even with a screw driver because it is a pretty soft rubber the tighteners are made out of.
If that doesnt work. go to the back and disconnect the document feed to scanner cables and reconnect. Other than that, you pretty much have to replace the feeder/scaner assembly since very very few parts are spared for that .

I volunteer for the local free clinic and they have a Xerox Workcentre 7328. It has an error code 012-267. What is this and how do I fix it?

Google is very good for error codes. Try Googling this:

Xerox Workcentre 7327 error code 012-267

I regularly do this with error codes and usually get straight to the explanation.

Error 016-311 xerox workcentre M128

This error code means the Scanner is not installed. The reason for this code could be a bad or diconnected interface cable, or corrupt system software. Check the cables for connectivity. If the problem persists, it will probably require a call to Xerox service. 800-821-2797

Xerox workcentre c2424 error code

One of two things most likely.
1. The wiper blade is stuck to the print head,or 2, The print head blosk has a lot of spill over ink built up in it.
That code is caused by the inability of the print head to move properly. Either left to right or pivot front to back to get into the print position.
You have to remove the covers to access the stainless steel print block. It is located about 2/3 of the way back on the lower left side of the frame. It is a one inch by one inch square block that may have a lot of buildup of spill over ink in it. If the wiper is stuck you have to remove the ink loader , where you add the ink sticks , to access the area between the print head and drum, It is a pink blade the is between the drum and print head, it wold be stuck to the print head not allowing it to move. Just carefully unstick it from the print head

CODE U2

A U2 is related to a memory failure. May be a bad memory chip or main board. BUT, before we get drastic and move in that direction there are a couple of other things that I have seen cause that.
So, first I have seen the chip on the back of the drum cartridge cause that problem. You can try removing the drum cartridge and powering on the machine without that installed. See if it just comes up with a J2 code then. Or even a CH code. If the code changes you may simply have a failed drum cartridge.
Sometimes memory corruption can occur and you can clear it using this procedure..

Performing a Fault Reset 14 will reset your WorkCentre and will help to clear error codes.
  1. Find the pink Clear button on the Control Panel of the WorkCentre.
  2. Find the button below the word Auto.
  3. Press these buttons in the following sequence: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] NOTE: All of the lights on the Control Panel should go out and the LED Display should go blank. If the lights do not go out, then repeat step 3 until they do. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the pace of the [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto] sequence.
  4. Press the [10's] key one time and the [1's] key four times to enter '14' in the LED Display, as if you were to make 14 copies.
  5. Press the green [Start] button.
  6. Press the pink [Clear] button two times.
  7. The WorkCentre should now warm up and come to ready.
  8. If the above steps do not clear the error code, repeat steps 3 to 6 a second time.
