You have no claims against the company, it is an auction, you buy with what you SEE not what you are told. You could have done a vehicle check online in about 5 minutes for a very small fee with a company like Carfax.

Leaks in the fuel line are also your responsibility, you check before you buy. It is an auction, not a purchase from a garage dealership. People buy at auction for a cheap deal, you get what you pay for.

you already covered the what if by buying insurance and this is a repair forum so for future problems notify the airlines

Check the transmission fluid level. If it's not up to full, fill it to the full point, but don't over fill. If this doesn't help, then it's time to take it to a professional. If you can find a transmission guy who will fix the problem instead of saying "oh you'll need a whole new transmission, I happen to be able to sell you a rebuilt one....". The guys who can fix the problem and not replace the whole things are fewer and fewer, now-a-days.

Did you keep copies of these so called promises ?
Was this in the postage or description details
IE: refund only on price of item
Postage is usually at buyers expense
How did you pay paypal or direct debit if paypal you might open a claim
If you have kept any copies of these it will be beneficial
