Running but not collecting water

My model #580.53701300 is running but not collecting water. Is there some part that needs replacement or does something need cleaning. I have vacuumed it over once alread.

model #580.53701300 has defrost function. I have the same model worked fine until recently. I saw evaporator and tube frost up. even temp >70, humidity >65%, the water bucket has only a few drop of water. the fan work fine.
if the coolant leaks, where is the coolant located?
is there anything wrong with sensor or control box?

Your coils are probably frosted up. This can happen from the basement temperature being too cold if you dont have the automatic defrost type of dehumidifier, or it could be low on coolant from a pinhole that leaked it out. Mine did the same thing and I had to buy another one. I bought one thats operates down to 41 degrees Fahrenheit and it is an automatic defrost type. It works good for my basement because I have central air which makes the basement even cooler and harder to dehumidify without freezing the dehumidifier up.

My machine is running but no water is being collected. The model number on my machine says DE N 500 P

Several things can cause your problem:

Dirty or clogged air intake filter. Remove and clean the filter according to the Owner's Manual instructions.

Dirty coolant coils. Clean and dry the coolant coils.

The humidity extraction level is set to high. Lower the level to 35%

Not enough free air space around the unit. Maintain at least 12" of air space around the entire unit.

The ambient air temperature at floor level is to cold (between 40 - 60 degrees F). Raise the unit up off the floor onto something sturdy enough to handle the weight (including a full tank of water) and the vibration during operation. This happens frequently in basement applications.

Depending on the age of the unit, the refrigeration coolant may need to be recharged.

The humidity sensor has failed and needs to be replaced.

All of the above are where you start troubleshooting and hopefully solving the problem.

My dehumidifier is running but not collecting any water. I have cleaned the filter and it still wont collect water. Is it broken?

Hi,

First, make sure the humidistat isn't set too high by adjusting it to the lowest humidity setting and running it again. Next, test the dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue. This situation will have to be addressed by a qualified technician.

Good luck.
