My Olympus stylus 710 displayed the D:5f08 5e02 error before. So I stopped using it. After some months when I turned it on the lens went in and out and instead of the error it showed a white screen and nothing happened. I tried almost all the ways discussed in fixya except the breaking in method...Please help and thank you in advance...

hi alexandra olympus cameras are know for having a few lens problems when ever a blue screen comes on the camera is faulty it sounds to me like you have some dirt or dust in the lens i have seen this problem a few times hope u get it sorted goodluck

Is it a WHITE screen? I had this problem with a 710 also.
It turns out that everyhting in the camera will still be perfect...except one thing---One or more of the conducting filaments in the ribbon connector (that bridges the electronics in the front and rear halves) will be found to have been broken, perhaps almost invisibly, at the fold in the ribbon.
At this point you own a "parts camera", and might get a few bucks for it on ebay. Sorry.
