That means you have corrupted files on your Hard drive, Use the recovery partition to deal with that if your computer has that, If not you might need to take it to the shop

Boot from your cd rom using your windows cd. Adjust your BIOS setting to boot from cd rom. Follow the instruction carefully. When partition editor screen come, break all partition and resize partition as your choice. Than install windows on drive 'C'. You r done. If you cant boot, try using another bootable cd. Problem booting "cdboot memory overflow error"

your ram or memory controller may be bad, try taking out one of the ram chips or swapping them with each other. try running memtest86 (you can google and download it) to check for memory errors.

I got a system form my school with no HDD. I got a standard IDE interface seagate baracuda 7200 rpm 160 GB HDD. I tried booting the system with a boot CD. But the error it is showing is CDBOOT: Memory...

If you have both a CD drive & a DVD drive, make sure you are using the 1st physical device (according to physical hookup).
Or if you do have both, then try booting with CD in other drive

HP laptop zv5000 will not boot.

The "Bootmgr is Missing" is basically telling you the Partition/s have either become Corrupt or Deleted. If you have more then 2 hard drives, check in the bios to see which one is set as master/slave, and also check the Boot Sequence order. Doubt whether re-seating the memory will do any good, as you would not evem get the Bootmgr is missing error if the Memory was unseated, You just need a clean install of windows put back on there.
