The LG NB5530A only has a digital optical audio input. The LCD40883F1080P has a digital (S/PDIF) optical audio output above the RCA audio output jacks on the back connection panel.
Your best audio option is to use this connection. When new, the NB5530A came with a digital audio cable. Remove the protective plastic covers from the cable ends. Plug in the cable using the correct orientation on both sides. If the original optical audio cable is missing or damaged, purchase a replacement and use it. (The audio and power ports on the NB5530A can be covered by a plastic cover. Remove it if necessary and replace it.
If you want to use the analog audio output on the TV, you will need a optical digital to analog audio converter. You still have to provide the digital audio cable between the TV and the converter as well as the RCA cables. See
