Line does not rollover - RCA 25403RE3 Corded Phone

I'm looking through it to see what I can see.

First check with your local telephone provider. See if you have rollover or hunting programmed on your lines. Different companies call the service different names. You need this service from the Telco provider the system will not do this.

CODE PO455 - EVAP SYSTEM LARGE LEAK DETECTED. POSSIBLE CAUSES. FUEL FILLER CAP LOOSE. PURGE SOLENOID VALVE IS DAMAGED OR HAS FAILED. CHARCOAL CANISTER IS LOADED WITH FUEL OR MOISTURE OR HAS FAILED. The rollover trouble is a service provider issue, you need to call your service provider to report it. The second trouble could be related , I would report it to the service provider also. Once the rollover rissue is fixed, test for the second trouble again.

Phone service? You probably have a Strata VI box in the back, but the pilot number and all of the hunting is part of the dial tone provider's equipment. Somewhere on the side of the box, you should be able to unplug all outside lines and plug single line phones or test the lines with no equipment on them. If the first line rolls to line 3 all by itself, then call the dial tone provider and have them test the group. You have to make sure you're not shorting out the lines. In fact, if you can get dial tone on lines 1 2 and 3, then it tends to make it their problem and not your Toshiba system.

Most likely the problem is the cord from the wall to the phone. There are two types of cords and they look almost identical. Look closely at the connector. A single-line cord will have only two gold pin at each end. A two-line cord will have four gold pins at each end.

You need a two-line cord to get both lines from the wall to your phone. Since you have had the problem with several phones, that is the most likely cause.
