I have a stair master 4000pt. We have moved it several times. The second time it was moved it acted like it had a short in it and then it started working. Since then it was working fine until we moved it from one room to another. Now it is doing the same thing it did the last time but we haven't managed to get it to work, the problem: It won't power up although the light is on the power supply indicating that it is getting power. The display doesn't light up and the steps don't have resistance. It is as though there is a short in a wire or something but I don't know where to look. The power supply that lights up? the wire between the power supply and the machine? Got any ideas? I would appreciate your help in determining what I need to replace. Thank you
Remove the cover on the side where the power cable goes in. There is a connector on the inside there. Inspect the wires going from the inside cover to the alternator. Sometimes the wire pulls out of the connectors. Other than that you will need to troubleshoot all the wires with a meter and see where your power is getting lost.
A good tech support line is National Gym Sypply if you know how to use a meter, know the names of the parts, these guys can help.
There is a white and black wire inside the cover. make sure they are connected. it's only 12 volts , so you will not get shocked..
