I cannot get my yp-k5 player to unlock, i have tried to restart but nothing is happening, when i switch it on i keep getting the locked symbol

When you deinstall the driver for the k5 in the hardware manager and then reconnect the k5 with your pc, he will charge. When he is charged you can turn him on. Sometime he shows that he is fully charged but this doesnt matter he charge and charge and charge... after that you can turn him on the usually way. This must be a MTP driver problem. No better solution found

My Computer, Samsung YPK5, Internal Storage, Music, Highlight the songs you want and right click to CREATE A PLAYLIST. Hope this helps :)

  1. You need to have Windows Media Player 10 or Higher.
  2. have the software installed, if you do not have it, you can get it here.

Player screen is locked. try to turn on but all I get is a lock symbol and it turns off. Tried to reset but nothing happens.
Hmm... I am using the same player and it is really good.

Now, follow these steps to unlock the player...

1. Hold your player horizontally.
2. At the bottom left hand side there is a switch to lock/unlock the player.
3. Use it.

If still it doesn't work, it means that that switch is not working and the player is damaged internally. In that case, you will need to give it back to the store for repairing or replacement.

My yp-k5 is not working.........the screen buttons itself is disabled..wen switched on.....i get a message.to delete 20 mb files......how can i do that wen d buttons itself r not working.....i tried...
First off, make sure the unit is not on hold. You can check that by looking at the side for the HOLD switch.

Next try to reset the player. Here's how you do it:
With the unit, get a paperclip and poke the reset hole at the back of the unit until the unit shuts off.

Try to turn on the unit and check if the buttons will be activated. If they'll work, format the player.

Next, what exactly happens when you try formatting the player using your PC?
You can try going to My Computer. There, you're going to see teh YP-K5. You DO NOT format that. Rather, double click on it. You're suppsoed to see a STORAGE folder. Right click on that directory and select FORMAT.

My samsung yp-k3 charges but when i unplug it and try to turn it on it wont, it has the locked sign for like a second
Same thing happened for me, the slider switch is probably not in the right spot, just take it apart (takes a while and you need to watch the screen cause its glued on) and the touch pad is held on by a wide wire) best idea for getting it back in to place would be just opening the player near the power switch. Doing this fixed the problem for me, but mine was pretty bashed and didnt charge anyway so be CAREFUL. hope this helps.
