Suddenly blank While I'm using it , suddenly it went black & the green power light still as it is. I restarted my computer , changed the power & Data cable , unplugged the data cable only But all made no effect. I tried another monitor and it works fine. I've doubts that some thing changed the monitor setting to "Input B" instead of "Input A" which the data cable is plugged to. any Idea about how to switch back to "Input A" or what is the problem ? For knowledge, I don't have any devices like "Video , TVbox ,...etc" which I can plug to "Input B".

Did you know any subtle changes in monitor performance before you had this problem. Maybe a flicker or lines running down the screen?

It sounds like your monitor has failed. If another monitor works fine but this particular one is not showing any picture. I would bet that your monitor is no good. The best solution to this problem is go and buy another monitor. To have it repaired would cost almost as a brand new monitor.

I build custom computers and I have had good luck with this one.
    Samsung SyncMaster 216BW 21.6" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms, 1000:1(DC 3000:1), WSXGA+ 1680x1050, Gloss Black, DVI-D, D-sub, 300 cd/m2
also sounds funny but I also use I-INC monitors. Cheaper price but in contrast good performance low temperatures.

Try connecting the monitor to a friend's computer. If you get some sort of a display it's not the problem. When you say that the computer makes a new noise like the fans are spinning fast, you might have an issue with the video card , motherboard, or power supply.

Go to Control Panel, (top right View Small Icons). Then look for Power Options. On this page, you'll have the option to leave the monitor on. You should also check "Advanced Power Options". Don't be afraid of the word, "Advanced." It only means "customizeable"

If your mouse isn't waking your monitor, try the keyboard's space bar. I found it works better than the mouse at waking a sleeping computer

Try unplugging the power cord to your computer tower, click the power button to drain the capacitors in the mother board then plug the power cord back in and try to boot up. Has helped me repair several similar black screen problems. Chuck [email protected]
