Hotpoint VTDOO dryer works but timer does not move and no reverse

sounds like you may have a timer with the contacts sticking closed at certian intervals. or a bad pcb check visual inspection of PCB look for burns or bulges, on the diodes or capcitors, Ihave in the past taken timers apart and fixed sticking contacts by sanding with emery cloth.

I have a whirlpool Quiet partner 1 (DU920PWKQ0) that sticks midway thru the wash cycle and continues to wash until the control knob is physically moved, how do I repair this? Thanks

Try to clean the timer assembly using electronic cleaning chemical and ensure the base where the knob rests is also free from sticking.Replacing the timer is the best

Dishwasher running on a short cycle, not cleaning

It is hard to be specific without knowing the model number of your Hotpoint dishwasher and approximately how many years old it is...

If your dishwasher has a mechanical timer knob that you turn to get the dishwasher started, I would suspect that it is failing (not advancing after a certain point.)

Please report back with what you find, OK?
