Error: Invalid Dim

When I type anything into Y= the error message INVALID DIM comes up. For example, if i type in Y=3X+5 the Error message comes up. What do I do to fix this?

    anytime i put a formula into the y= i get an error invalid dim. i just want to graph, so does anyone know what's going on? i looked in the manual about fixing the problem, but it just talked about dimensions, mostly in relation to matrices, which doesnt have anything to do with plotting a little graph that i want. please help!!

    I get invalid dim after I put information in window and select histograph and then graph. My histograph comes up only for half a second and then "invalid dim" appears each time.

This happened to me as well. i looked it up and heres what i found:

basically you have a stat plot on so to turn it off, press 2nd and then the Y= button to get to "Stat Plot"
one of them is turned on so press enter and select OFF. this should fix the problem!

That happened to me but i just turned my calculator off then once i turned it back on, it worked.

Nice tip. saved my life for calc homework. who knew that dim really meant stat plot? not a very good warning by the makers....

You must disable (deactivate) the Statistical Plots
Press [2nd][Y=] to open the STAT PLOTS configurator

Getting ERR: INVALID DIM when pressing the Graph button

If the message appears when you try to graph functions deactivate the statistical plots. To do so:

Press [2nd][Y=] to access (STAT PLOTs)
Select [4:PlotsOff] then [ENTER]

That should solve your problem. Post a comment to this thread if you still have trouble graphing.If the message appears in another context, it sure would help knowing the context of the error.

Reset memory to default, the error will disappear.

My ccalculator won't graph anything. I get the error messge Inval

Press the 2nd button, then the plus button, then 7, then 1 and then 2. This will reset your calculator to factory settings
