How do you get the spout off?

Information on your faucet can be found here:

The exploded parts view can be helpful is seeing how your faucet is assembled:

First turn off the hot and cold water supply taps. Then to remove the spout you simply unscrew the spout cap counter-clockwise; you should then be able to lift the spout up and off the supply post.

I have a single lever Moen faucet in the kitchen. Over time, the swing spout has become tight. Today I noticed water leaking from the base when I tried to move the spout. What parts need to be...

Hi,

Over time mineral can buildup inside the hub of the spout and cause it to turn hard... this mineral also will grind up the o-ring inside there and then the water will leak out...

To replace the o-ring you will need to get a new one from a Moen dealer... then remove the handle and then pull the spout up and over everything... this can be very hard to do as the mineral buildup will keep you from pulling it up and off...
Once you do get it off though you can then clean everything up with CLR or similar and then reassemble with a new o-ring...

Replacing Moen O kitchen faucet O ring

if it is dripping from the spout then there is a cartridge that needs replaced...1225 for the single handle type and 1224 for the 2 handle type. Moen does not use O-rings in their valves. If it leaking around the base of the spout there is an oring kit that you will need and you will have to pull the spout off to access them. Most Moen faucets use a 117 kit for the spout but there are some different ones.
