Sub Zero 700 TC. Ice sheet forms on bottom of unit below bottom drawer. I have turned off freezer and cleared all the ice using a hair dryer. The ice returns in a couple weeks. I thought this would have cleared the drain. Any other ideas.

Most likely would be a failed defrost heater. Call an authorized servicer.

SOURCE: Sub-Zero 550 - freezer unit is chilling, but not freezing

Ice maker was intermittent at best - ice was often just a shell. After two failures to correct we had the ice maker (a Whirlpool - on a Sub Zero - Go figure) replaced. Then the paddle that detects the ice level broke. Next step a new GE.

SOURCE: sub zero freezer too warm

I believe the freezer has to get down to 7 degrees or lower for icemaker to harvest. Clean your condenser and blow it out. If that doe not fix it you will need service for sealed system

SOURCE: drain in fridge is clogged - ice formation under crisper drawers

the drain needs to be cleared so that the water that is produced during the defrost cycle has a place to go, namely to the evaporation pan where it will evaporate.

SOURCE: Sub-zero 550. freezer icing

You probably have some food on the way. Unload the freezer and see if the door would close better. Looks like you have a warm air leak.

Sub Zero 700 TC with two freezer drawers on bottom. Ice sheet is forming on the bottom below the drawers and causing the drawer to stick. I have defrosted the freezer with a hair dryer and thought this...

Hi,

How are the ice cubes? Are they normal size or hollow? I was wondering if some of the water was not making it into the ice maker and causing this issue. Is there any frosting issue not mentioned? Any water droplets on or around the back wall of the unit (inside)? I am a service tech certified and would like to know more about this issue. Have you cleared the drain completely, meaning after you de-iced unit, did you use water to verify the drain was cleared?

I you like to know more, so I can direct you in solving this issue.

Water on floor

The hose that goes into the drip pan to defrost the refer is plugged with stuff.
take the back off and see the hose connection.A coat hanger works well.Usually a 1/4" hose.
Also see where the bottom of the freezer drains into the drip pan. That may be plugged, also.
The temp may be set too low and the condenser is frozen up,leaking water into the floor.Just ice stuck to the condenser.
Possible that the condenser FAN stopped turning. That will ice up and melt at random:
see/hear that the fan is working.
If stuff gets into the fan,it will ice up,melt and make a mess on the floor.

Sub zero freezer drawer frozen shut

Subzero freezer: We had all our drawers stuck, including the ice drawer. We turned off the refrigerator, took all the drawers out and defrosted the rails with a hair dryer. The ice drawer was misaligned, so we reset the allen screws on the left to be the correct width. All better!

Water dripping from the bottom of the freezer drawer

Hello,

Your unit has auto defrost. Remove the food from the bottom section and see if you have some frost/ice blocking the bottom vent. If it is blocked, using a hair dryer....remove the frost/ice and then you may have to remove the inside rear panel to unblock the drain hole behind the panel.....

Take care ......

Freezer drawer on sub zero stuck

chances are it is frozen stuck and also needs lubrication. Do this. Unplug it for an hour and try the drawer. If it doesnt open wait another half hour and try it again. When it does open, dry the rails thoroughly with a towel and then a hair blow dryer. Finally spray the rails with a lubricating spray like WD40 or better yet some white lithium lubricating grease, both products readily available at any hardware store, home depot, etc.

Sheet of ice forms on bottom of freezer

Your defrost heater assembly has probably failed. Look at the ends of the heater for darkness like that of a bad neon bulb. Replace the heater assembly as a unit after removing the ice with a hair dryer. Becareful not to drop the glass heaters when replacing.
