Reset to factory and make sure you have a good network wifi signal before starting a firmware upgrade. The reset is listed on the last page of the troubleshooting section of the manual. (Surround + Clear for 3 Seconds on my SR6004)

This sounds like a bad update. Do you have a reset button anywhere? reset to factory defaults? I'd first contact whoever is giving out the updates and let them know the update fails install.

To reset the lamp timer for the Marant VP8600 you will need your remote.

Step 1: Make sure the PJ is powered on

Step 2: Press the leftt arrow key, then right arrow key, then the Freeze button

Step 3: Press enter to reset
