When it ask you how you want to start the computer the select Last known Good Configuration. It should boot up normally.
Then go o the control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager and check for any devices that didn't install (the ones with the yellow ?)
You will need to reinstall these drivers.

Computer failing to start

Your Operating System maybe corrupted. If you have the installer that it came with (usually a CD), you may need to use that when repairing. Your computer should extract the missing/corrupted files from the installer

Compaq laptop when start up.. black screen and cursor

Hi,

Here try this:

1. Load to Safe Mode. (Press F8 after you press the power button just continue tapping it. For Windows XP F5.)

2. Open Device Manager.
Start->Control Panel->Device Manager (For Windows 7 and Vista)
Start->My Computer(Right Click choose Properties)->Device Manager

3. Once your on the Device Manager look for Display Adapter (Double Left Click).

4. Under Display Adapter Right Click on the Video Card Driver then choose Uninstall.

5. Restart the machine.

6. See if the machine able load to the normal startup.

7. If the machine able to load to desktop try to Download and Reinstall the Video Card Driver.

8. If the first step did not work, I recommend to reinstall the Operating System.

Computer is not loading..black screen keeps coming with the message input not supported..how can i turn my computer on normally.it loads on safe mode.

Input not supported could be the screen having problems. It loads in safe mode so the display driver is corrupt or set to a too higher resolution for your screen.
Adjust it as required.

Hello I wonder if you can help. When we switch

Had a similar problem like this several times. Try choosing safe mode. Safe mode will load the required drivers. After safe mode finishes the loading process, restart your computer and choose to start windows normally. The problem you mention usually happens when the computer is turned off without using normal shut down procedures. Also happens when you have a sudden power outage.

Black screen nothing loading

One of your driver is acting up. start in safe mode, disable one of the drivers (DVD or whatever) then close and try to start normally. If the PC starts then reinstall the driver.

Installed still life and it wont play , it says game is running

Find the program in the installation directory. It might be something like C:\Program Files\The Adventure Company\Microids\StillLife

Now right-click on Stilllife.exe, then click Properties. Click the Compatibility tab, then select Windows 98/ME from the drop down menu. Hit OK and try to run the game again. It should start up just fine.

Gateway laptop mx3414-black screen cannot load windows

Try going into safe mode upon startup by hitting the F8 button. If it does then hit safe mode to get into your computer. Go to start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Follow the wizard to restore your computer to a date earlier than when you started having problems. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.

No Signal when desktop wants to load

It does not hate that monitor. I believe the problem is in the settings on your video. Your monitor cannot display them. You will most likely need to start your computer in safe mode and change the display settings on your video card or, alternatively, download updated video drivers. Also, if you can't get Windows to start in normal or safe mode, one of the options you get when you press F8 on startup is to start in VGA mode. That will get you in so you can tweak your settings, which are probably set to a resolution too high for your monitor.

No Display - Screen says "NOT SUPPORTED"

Turn your computer on.
When the boot screen cahnges to black start pressing F8
You should get a Windows startup screen
If you see the Windows Logo loading page, then hit the reset button and tray again.
On the Windows Start page, select Safe mode.
Press enter twice and Windows will load
Go into display properties (right click on the desktop and you will see it on the menu)
A box will pop up, select the last tab (Display Properties) there will be a slider on the left side. Move it left to around 800x600.
Select apply and then close the window.
Restart Windows normally and it should be fine.

If not, post back and we will try something else.
Hope it helps =)
