Re:"When I traveled abroad i passed through the ray gate in the airport
wearing my watch. This made the compass showing wrong indications."
The strong electromagnetic field produced by airport detectors can damage electronic devices.
Try removing the battery for five minutes to reset the watch, if that does not fix the problem , then the internal chips are irreparabaly damaged.
Note: the battery is replaced opening the back plate. The back plate of the Casio can be opened at home using a pair of tweezer, then taking care not to damage the rubber seal, battery is flipped out and replaced. watch is reassembled by placing the seal in correct way and using the tweezers to screw the back cover.
It may look like a simple operation, but if it is not being done properly you can compromise the impermeability of the watch. I suggest having the job done at an authorized shop.
If battery reset does not help, then the watch logic circuits got damaged by the airport scanner.

Ginko.

Use the four numbers on the back of your watch and you will have a PDF version of your instruction manual.
Hope this tip helps.

SOURCE: compass comes up with RECO, what does this mean?
If you use the backlight of the alarm a number of times during a short period, RECOV appears on the display. After some time, battery power will recover and RECOV will disappear, indicating that the above functions are enable again.

The battery does NOT need replaced.
The word "Open" on this watch means that the sensor inside the back of the watch has detected that that the back is open. I ended up having to repair this problem myself after a local watch repair guy told me he didn't want to mess with it. You'll have to get a micro-philips screwdriver and remove a few screws and pop the end caps off to get to your problem.
After you have removed the screws and end caps inside the back there's a small spring that pushes against a copper disk glued to the back of the watch. The problem is that Casio has used a crappy glue to hold this disk in place and it needs to be removed and reglued to the back in it's proper place with super glue. It's a pain in the **** but I have repaired mine by doing this. BTW...I have found a video or another help for this fix on line so I won't go too much into it. Do a Google search and you'll find the step by step process listed elsewhere.
