Remove stuck cassette tape

Hi, I have put in a tape cassette in and its stuck. It doesnt seem to eject and doesnt seem to play the tape either. Ihave looked inside, it seems that one of the mechanism wheels is stuck, while the little wheels trying to, the other one doesn't which makes a very irritating clicking nose each time I turn it on. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is in the mechanism. and my tape is comopletely stuck! unless the head doesn't come off my tape has to stay in.

To remove the tape you will need to pull the whole unit out of the dash and disassemble it.

Yes, I'm sure Alpine will sell you another face but there is still the option of repairing the broken face at a good repair shop. Of course getting a new face is the easiest (read most expensive) way to get you going again.

SOURCE: stuck cassette in bose care stereo

I wonder if you were ever able to resolve your problem... I have a2000 ML 320 witht he same Bose issue... I get an error msg: TAPE TOO TIGHT... It won't even play and I get that same clicking sound when I try to eject... When I first purchased vehicle (used in 2002) I had the problem and the dealership assured me that they replaced the stereo with a new one...I never really tired it again until more than a year later and the same thing happened... Of course I was out of warranty at that time and I can't help, but to wonder if they really ever changed the stereo, or if they just removed the cassette.... If any has the solution, please contact me via email: [email protected]

SOURCE: jammed cassette tape in car stereo

your cassette seems to be jammed, try removing the player open it which should reveal the trapped cassette then try to carefully remove the tape as it may have got stuck around the capstans(rubber bits) sometimes when tapes haveen't been played for a long time they tend to become loose, try to ensure that the tape is tight by using a pencil inserted into the spool and turn it until the tape tightens please take care not to over tighten. good luk

SOURCE: I have a VW Polo (2005) with a Beta radio cassette

If you are not worried about breaking any thing I have always used needle nose pliers, when the tape is lifted pull it out with the pliers, don't put the tape back in.

Cassette Stuck in Sony SLV 640HF VCR

Hi,

it sounds like you need to use the rewind option first to rewind the tape. If the tape isn't rewound, then you're unable to play it. And this might cause the eject issue that you're experiencing as well.

Thank you.

Vcr will not play tapes,it ejects the tape after a few seconds

This may be caused by the mode switch.
By the way it uses a K-Deck Mechanism.

Cannot get cassette doors to eject

the motor that drives the mechanism is jammed or burnt out.if you remove the cover and turn the big metal weights driven by the motor, the unit will dock the assembly and the door should open.
it thinks it is playing a tape and that is why the eject doesnt work

Tape stuck in player - error code e13 shows

I just got a tape unstuck myself. Everytime I would hit eject it would make a clicking noise.

Here is what I did:
First I watched these videos to remove the radio.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29MTa4FLjtk&feature=channel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqvk_PNo9Kg&feature=channel

Then I unscrewed the bottom panel of the radio.
Unscrew the brass screws holding in the cassette player portion of the radio.
Now flip the cassette player over to see your tape, etc.
When I pressed the eject button, I noticed a little motor with a worm gear would move a a gear which moved several other gears until it eventually moved a black gear which has a little post that moves the metal arm which moves back when pushing in a tape and moves forward when ejecting a tape. But I would get a clicking sound which seemed to be due to one gear trying to move a stuck gear.
I forgot the exact details of how I managed to get the tape out, but when I did get it out I noticed when I turned on the radio, it would act like it was trying to play a tape. But when it found out it couldn't, it would try to eject but would fail once again with the gear clicking sound.
I think I tried moving the black post on the black gear that moves the arm that pushes the tape out. Eventually I got to the point where the arm was pushed forward like it should be when a tape is ejected. At that point I was able to insert and eject a tape without any problems.

Tape will not play or eject

MUSTANG,
remove the top of your vcr and watch the video as you insert it. There should be a plastic lever that opens up the tape and a metal roller that extend out and pulls the tape to the film wheel. pay close attention to the innerworkings around the edge of the cassette and eject the cassette. no closely review the areas that you noted around the edge of the tape while it was in the bay. you will notice either a spring or a clip thas has been awkardly shifted or even bent or broken. if this doesnt guide you to a solution pls reply with the make and model # of your machine

pls rank this post
thanks

Denon Dual Cassette Deck DRW-660 will not eject either tape. I put a tape in right side, played a bit, stopped, will not eject. I put another tape in left side, closed, cannot eject. Cannot eject either....

Some dual decks use a common drive belt. It may have become too slack (due to age) to drive mechanism. I am sure its time to change all belts in both decks. This will solve the problem
