there is a 100uf/63v capacitor near the IRF630 fet. You need to replace this in order to fix this error. Along there is also a 2200uf/16v capacitor. It is a good idea to change the both at the same time.

SOURCE: powerware ups mod #PW9120100i

You have to turn socket of ups power cord 180 degrees, because the ups is measuring voltage between ground and ac-line.

SOURCE: Powerware 9120 BUS Unbalanced error display

I've had this same issue what it boils down to is that the Power IN is not being distributed properly across the Power Outlets.

Step 1. unplug everything from the unit and power the ups down. If the alarm clears itself the UPS is mostly likely fine. if it doesn't not clear send it in for repair

Step 2. If step 1 cleared the alarm try distributing the decives across the outlets differently.

There are two inverters so two output if everything is plugged into one side (ie a power bar with 10 things plugged into it) and nothing on the other side this could cause the alarm.

hope this helps

HI everyone I've got several UPS Eaton EX 3000 installed in solar farms and ALL of them are malfunction

call the ups engineers for an answer to the problem when connected to solar power
there may be a problem in that solar panels produce various voltages during the day ( depending on the cloud coverage ) and the ups requires a reasonably steady input voltage to operate properly
I have found the eaton ups product to reliable so the suggestion to talk with the engineers to ensure that the system is compatible with the solar set up would be to your advantage

Can I replace the fan in a live powerware 9120?

hey dude your problem is so simple..below are my solutions.
if you already secured the fans for the replacement then its easy for you to do it, try to totally shut down your UPS removing the input and battery supply. avoid replacing the fans with power, its to dangerous. it consist of almost 400VDC inside in it.

The charger in powerware 9 series 9120 6000i ,the fan is of a quality that it fails and the heat sink does not get sufficient cooling ,it runs on 12 volt ,i replaced it with a cpu fan from a mainboard on a pc and it works perfectly now. make sure that the fan is running else the charger might go in protection or can fail due to the transistor on heat sink fails.

Overtemp

The cooling fan is probably not working. Unit will overheat. Check the fan to see if it run continuously with no scraping noise with the UPS turned "ON". If the fan does not run, open the case and replace the fan.

I have a Samsung Washer/Dryer (WD-J1255) When trying to complete a dry cycle, "HE2" shows on the screen. There is no such error code in the manual. The machine has been reset and the same happens...

Samsung reports FE is "FAN ERROR".

Samsung replaces the internal die cast fan-heater unit.

If not under warranty, as DIY try unpluuging the unit and removing the top cover. Remove the aluminium die cast "Assy Duct Scroll" which is on the RHS and contains a fan and a heater. Dissasemble by removing screws and remove the clogging by detergent foam and lint. Use vinegar as this dissolves the sludge. Rinse and check that the fan can spin freely. Note that the fan motor or heater could have burned out. However it is likely that a heat sensor that reported FE can caused a shutdown due to over heating.

If cleaning and replacing does not help a new unit may have to be sourced.

Note if exensive corrosion is present the unit will have to be replaced.

Note that use of foaming detergents or too much detergent will cause this problem.

Fan is running constantly

in the 9120 series the fan is allways working, but as 2 speeds. the higher goes of when the load goes around 80% or the temperature inside is higher. just make sure the the fans are clean, and check the ups temperature.
but is normal.
