Bottom mount freezer not getting cold enough

I have a kenmore bottom freezer 22 cu about 4 years old. The fridge work's fine however the ice starting thawing in the freezer, i took the temperature and was at -4. I know thats warm because my other fridge bottom freezer is at -19...there was ice build up all inside the freezer along the back wall. I unpluged the fridge and took the back panel off the next day and saw water over flowing in the pan and the coils blocked full of dust, so i cleaned it all with my vacuum cleaner well and put it back together. I going to plug in it and see totomorrow if it's working, any idea's if this could be the problem or maybe more?

I got up this morning to find that everything was warm inside of my fridge and everything was thawing out inside the freezer. I have a beko frost free fridge freezer. I cleared everything out of the freezer to save what I could and someone else is now kindly storing my frozen food and had to throw just about all the food in the fridge part away. After 4 hours of emptying it, all of a sudden the freezer part started to work again, but not the fridge. Does the fridge work on the same thermostat to the freezer or a different one. Baffled!

You have a failed component or components in your automatic defrost system. This is why you have excessive frost inside the freezer along the back wall. The timer could be stuck in run mode. The defrost thermostat (bi-metal) could be defective or the defrost heater could be open or shorted.

Kenmore classic bottom freezer refrigeration warm but freezer is cold

I would guess you have just caused a build up of ice to block the air way, which normally takes cold air into the fridge. manually defrost (unplug and wait until the ice goes away) then restart and it should be fine

Bottom frezzer is working but fridge is not blowing cold air

Refrigerator gets cold air from freezer compartment. Either the air flow is blocked by food items or ice, or the recirculating fan is not working.

The most common failure is that the freezer coils get all iced up becuase the defroster timer, defroster thermostat, or heater has stopped working.

When it's running, you should feel cold air blowing out of the vents that are in the fridge, otherwise, the 'air tower' (air vent) is blocked with ice.

If you manually defrost the whole thing, and it runs fine for a day or so, then it's not defrosting properly. If you manually turn the defroster timer, and you don't hear the scorching/hissing/gurgling of the defroster working, then that would confirm a fault in the defroster circuits.

Based on the following thread, it's probably a bad defrost thermostat.

Freezer works, but fridge doesn't

try checking the fan in the freezer at the top which pushes the coldness over to the freezer

Amana side-by-side fridge freezer only cold at the bottom

yes the evap fan in the frezer should be running when the compressor is running[it may not for a minute or so as it starts up.Amana's are good for the connectors at the evap fan motor comming apart.the connectors are white and will look like its together but when you pull it will come apart.i would always cut the connector out and use a wire nut so wont happen again.if any other questions please email thru FixYa and i will be glad to help. Bottom of freezer/fridge only getting cold.

Thre is a fan inside the freezer which circulates the cold air around both the fridge and the freezer compartments.
You should be able to feel cold air blowing around the inside, particularly at the top of the freezer.
If the defrost thermostat fails open, the internal fan (depending on freezer) will stop and this can be the cause of the freezer being warm at the top and no ice.
You say the bottom of the freezer is blowing cold, but are you sure its blowing, as it can feel like a cold blow. Of course the fan could have failed or may be the defrost heater itself.
