The wifi signal from my router to my Samsung Galaxy Tab goes back and forth between "not in range" to "secured". The wifi will last for about 10 seconds and then loose the signal. I don't think it is the router because I have 5 other devices hooked up to the router and they work just fine.

Some Galaxy Tab devices have crosstalk between wifi and bluetooth that causes signal interference.

Try turning off Bluetooth.

There can be a variety of reasons why the wifi no longer works. Did you make sure that the wifi is on in the settings menu?

SOURCE: Tried to root and now

Hi astone5638,

The first thing to try to correct this issue is to remove the battery and SIM (if you have on, varies by carrier) from the phone and wait 20 seconds, then, with the battery still out, plug it into your wall charger, then place the battery and SIM back in and turn the phone back on.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

What kind of wifi remote/wireless do I need for a Samsung galaxy tablet?

If you have a combination modem/wireless router you should be able to connect your tablet to the internet. If not, you will need to either buy a wireless router that connects to your modem to broadcast the wireless signal or contact your service provider and get the combination modem/wireless router.

I already asked the question and then had to get off the computer. The question was how do I stay on the WiFi internet through netgear router. When the WiFi symbol shows I am conneted if I go too Chro

Need to know your signal strength and if you're connected with proper credentials. If the wifi signal is weak, the computer may disconnect to look for a stronger signal. Sometimes ipv6 is the culprit on older computers too. Disable that and use ipv4 only. There are multiple reasons for dropped internet so the more info about your system and the conditions under which the internet is dropped will help in diagnosing the problem without sending you on a wild goose chase.

Cant connect to Wifi

To connect to secure wifi you need the password for the wifi router you are trying to connect to. You cannot just connect to a secure network unless you have that password - the owner of the router will have the password.

I cannot get my tab 3 which is brand new to even see my wifi at home. it says it is not in range. i have been able to connect to some free wifi in other spots. help!

I read something about manually adding a wifi spot...Don't remember where it was but try Samsung dot com

go to your wifi page and do a search will progressively getting closer to you modem... if it doesn't see it in range at all, check with your internet provider as something may be conflicting... I've had no problems connecting to my home wifi or wifi spots all over the state of Florida and I have the same Tab. Wonderful product and you will enjoy it. Also some apps are made for mobile phones only and will not work with the tabs... keep this in mind

Does the WiFi router have SSID? Did it ever connect to other WiFi Access Point before? If not some say to set the Tab on Static IP and configure the router to allow the Tab's MAC address. Hope it helps.
