SOURCE: Samsung YP-K3 MP3 Player won't start

I've two simple solutions!!!

1. It's like what everyone says, you push the Reset button on the back and plug it in again. Did not work for me though. :(

2. I used this solution instead, I went to Control Panel > Performance & Maintenance > System Open the drives tab and and looked up the mp3's drive. I saw there was a yellow exclamation mark. I then right clicked on that drive and updated it. Voila, it updated the MTP, and DONE! MAGIC! ;D

I hope it works for everyone, good luck!

SOURCE: my Ali mp3 player is not recognized

(windows xp) Open the Device Manager in the Control Panel, locate the Audio Player/MTP Device (should be under Portable Devices).
Right click it and select Update Driver and select the option to browse manually, press Next and select Choose Manually from a list.
Once there you should have two lists (one with manufacturers and one with devices).
The ALiCorp manufacturer should be chosen by default, if not try to locate it (if it does not exist you need the drivers!)
Important! select USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE from the Device list and NOT AUDIO PLAYER / MTP DEVICE!
Press next/install and let it finish, now you should be able to transfer mp3 files to you audio player using your favorite sync software or manually dragging the files in to the correct device in the my computer folder.

The names for the buttons etc may not the correct as my OS language is not english and I assume you have some basic understanding of computers, this solutuion worked for me and some friends who also bought ALiCorp mp3 players (they are really cheap)
This may also work with other storage devices.

A problem I have also had is the FILE SYSTEM error when trying to play songs, I fixed this by changing the battery to an older one (my mp3 player hates new batteries for some reason)

The best thing you can do to avoid things like this is get a proper mp3 player and dont buy this cheap ****, save up cash for a proper one with USB rechargnig as it will save you money in the long run, stay away from alicorp since everything they make is total **** and incompatible with everything (personal experience).

Hope this helps people and sorry for the english but it is my third language.

My windows will not accept my device. What driver do I need? Neptune Finis

Windows does not require a driver to use this device. If connected via a USB port, it should be recognized by Windows as a removable disc drive and will show up under the "My Computer" menu, or "This PC" menu, depending upon Windows version. There is no other GUI or assistant type software utilized.

Finis SwimP3 charging but not listed on removable disk drive.

Cyn,

Generally the computer should recognize the Swimp3 Player just like it would a flash drive or thumb drive. Remove the drive from your USB Port, press and hold the RESET button for 4 seconds and then try again.

That will usually clear up any hiccups you're having with the swimp3 player.

Plug it back in and look in My Computer again. On my Windows PC with XP it pops up and asks what I want to do with the drive.

After Resetting, you may also want to try it on a second computer to see if it is recognized. If it isn't working then, it could be the electronics, and your gift giver can check with the place where it was purchased.

I hope this helps.

Have not used my finis mp3 for a while and have a new computer. when i plug it into my usb port the computer recognizes it but no lights come on and the device is dead

Try connecting your MP3 player into another computer, if you get the same problem, then there could be a loose wire connections inside or the program could be corrupted.

If the battery is completely dead, the MP3 player should turn on if it's connected to the computer so I don't think that the battery is the ONLY problem. There is another problem and that could be a loose wire or bad component.

You need to contact a repair tech to check it for you.

Thank you!
