Tangled thread on wrong side. The thread on the wrong side of my fabric keeps getting tangled. The ONLY time it gets tangled is when I try to sew a top stitch in a curved section. The rest of the time it sews just fine. Why would my thread only tangle around curves on the top stitch? Occasionally (rarely) it will not tangle if I am going super fast, but then my top stitch isn't as nice looking.
I'm guessing it is because the tension is not just right, the bobbin might not be the right size, the thread type top and Botton might not be the same, or you just might need put in a new needle the right size.

do you have the foot down? if not your getting whats called a birdsnest just put the foot down and then press on the peddal and then there should be no more knots ( by foot I mean the metal part that goes over your material and the needle goes through)

re-thread the entire machine. Pay special attention to the take-up lever and the tension assembly.
Always have the presser foot in the UP position when threading the machine. This opens the tension disc to allow the thread to nestle inside the assembly. Make sure the thread passes through the take up lever Make sure you inserted the thread in every thread guide I always recommend a sharp needle. You may not notice any slight bends, burrs or dullness in the needle which would throw off the timing and the stitch quality. SPOOL CAP - If you have a horizontal spool pin a spool cap is very important. Its also very important the spool cap covers the end of the spool of thread but make sure its not too big or it will throw off the thread tension. TOP TENSION DIAL - The setting should be between 3 and 5 on most machines. The best way to know if you threaded the tension assembly correctly is to put the presser foot in the DOWN position. Now take the thread from the right of the tension assembly and pull. Is there tension on the thread or does it pull out very easily? If it pulls out easily you threaded it incorrectly. Try it again also check under the needle plate for lint and in the bobbin case area for lint or loose threads

What size needle are you using? You should be using at least a #14 or #16. A #11 is too light duty. Try that and see if it doesn't make a difference.

This means your tension is incorrect. That circle with numbers about the needle is typically set at three. If not, start there and experiment number by number until your threads are equally taut on both sides.

rethread the machine top 7 bobbin ---make sure the presser foot is in the up position before rethreading--use every thread guide
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint
make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case & that
the bobbin is not over full
