Screen dead was working OK went out came back 15 min later screen black I thought it was hibernating but just stayed black when hit keys, restarted nothing turned power off to monitor turned back on got lg symbol then nothing tried all buttons nothing tried CRT monitor all OK work's. Close windows down. Wait 15 - 20 mins, then power monitor up but NOT windows. Screeen should say "NO SIGNAL in centre. If t does not, wait five mins If still no display shut down and wait another 5 mins. Then start monitor un ANDt windows.. All should be OK now, If not shut EVERYTHING down and disconnect from mains ovrernight. (PC riouter/modem,,,, EVERYTHING . 12 hours later, re-connetc in THIS order - 1.) MONITOR 2.) PC 3) ROUTER/MODEM Should be OK now.

why not turn hibernation off first.

here are the firsts list ,
1: new RTC coin cell installed in laptop (tiny battery is first)
NO cell last 15 year old, why run this battery?????????????
very very unwise
2: park the huge new battery on the shelf till PC runs right again.
3: now run on AC power, this must work or the pack is bad (99%?)
4: ok it runs now, go to control panel and turn off hibernate.
CP + power, turn it all off.


now the dead thing,
do the HP long reset posted at HP 1,000,000 times.

1. big battery out
2. ac pack unplugged. from PC
3. push power button for 10 second
4. release.

this resets hibernate , and other oddities.

sounds like a lose wire or connection, could also be a battery amperage problem.

Check to see if the screen saver went on, and it's a blank one, or if the sleep or hibernation mode is set for 10 minutes, or so.

i read your report. OK go to your power options and turn off your hibernate and restart your computer.allot of times after you have reformatted your hard driver. the hibernation doesn't work correctly. Try this tip and let me know how it goes. Thank you for writing to fix ya.

Unplug the computer for a minute and plug it back in. It should restart normally.

Usually you restart just by tapping a key in sleep or hitting the power in hibernate.

Switch off and on your PC and hold down the F5 key and this should bring up your PC in Safe Mode. If this fails, then find a PC repair shop to replace the power supply.

Have you checked on the hibernation settings?

go to power options got to hibernation tab then untick enable hibernation . then reboot

Hit the keyboard keys. It is better to just turn sleep and hibernate off and just use a screen saver or tun it off.
