After spending 230 bucks for a new control panel, which fixed the flashing fault code 7 issue, I decided to take the old one apart to see what had happened. I had found instructions from someone who had done this, but could not understand them; here is the short, sweet version. Understand you can easily destroy the fragile plastic panel, and that these instructions assume you have shut off your range breaker at the house panel, and removed the entire Control Panel (includes the rangetop controls). If you are having difficulty doing either of these tasks, call the repairman now! You can destroy the unit or hurt yourself...

Use an X-acto knife at the edges of the plastic touch panel to separate the touch panel from the backing all the way araound. This requires a steady hand and a good deal of patience. Once there are a few millimeters cut from under the edges, the edges can be gently pried up to remove the entire panel, which is just glued on.

Now find the damage on the circuit board, which is likely a damaged trace or two near an edge of the panel. Make a bridge with wire and solder to repair the break. Use the old glue marks to place modest amounts of quick-drying epoxy on the back of the panel, and press it back in its original position.

Once again, let me stress that this a repair for someone with at least modest skills with a soldering iron and X-Acto knife. A wire-bridge repair of the traces is a must; a simple solder bridge will break almost immediately, due to the same stresses that broke the original board.

My oven pad show out F2:E1

For Whirlpool (and associated brands), the F2 E1 error indicates a communication problem between the touch pad and the electronic control board. The oven's control thinks that the touch pad wiring is unplugged. This could be due to damaged wires, a loose wiring harness or a problem with the touch pad. First check that the wires aren't loose. Press Cancel to see if the signal is sent to the control board and clears the error. Wait 60 seconds for a response.

If the error persists, you need to replace the touch pad. On some models, you'll have to replace the touch pad and control board since they are sold as a single unit. For the units where the touch pad is a separate unit, you may still need to replace the control board. If the F2 E1 error persists after replacing the touch pad, then the control board is also faulty.

If you post a comment with the oven's make and model number, I may be able to give you the appropriate replacement part numbers. If your oven is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer for the repairs.

I hope this helps.

My start pad doesn't respond to pressure

Problem seems most likely damage or corroded touch pad connections inside or outside and this is common problem for most touch pads as moisture and humidity enters inside touch pad mechanism and problem can be solved with replacement of needed parts and most likely touch pad must be replaced

Touch pad inoperaive

Unfortunately, if you are having problems with a touch pad you will probably have to replace either the touch pad itself, if you can get it or the whole control board and touch pad as a unit which normally ends up running as much as a new microwave. I would check your warranty and see if it still is covered and proceed that direction.

How to used the touch pad

Use the touch pad to move the pointer around the screen.
Run your finger over the touch pad in the direction you want the pointer to move and then click the left touch bar (this works as the left button on a mouse).

There many videos showing how to desasemble the phone in youtube, just search with your model and you will find videos showing all the dtails how.
Please not that the problem is with touch pad which is the one you touch directly on it, is only vinil cover and is working as a keyboard. Under touch pad is located the lcd display of the phone which other part .

While touching directly the laptop pad is not working unless we use right or left key to execute it please advise

Right click on the touch pad icon on the desktop. Select Pointing Device Properties. Check that it is not just disabled. If OK go to Control Panel and Device Manager, check for yellow warning signs and if you have one, uninstall the driver that is not working, Windows will re install it when you re boot. If it still doesn't work then it may be faulty.
Replacement Touch Pads are available from ebay.

Touch pad is loose at the top. The upper choices don't respond to touch. The bottom choices will respond. How do you reattach the pad?

I would think that the touch pad will need replacing.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers for spare part supplies and Driver downloads as required.

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

My toshiba satellite A355D touch pad is not working. my husband told me that probably my kid turned it off. if that is the case... how can i turn it on?

Sounds like your touch pad may need to be replaced. You can't really turn off the touch pad.Even if your child managed to uninstall the touch pad it would load back the drivers at next startup.Chances are the touch pad will have to be replaced. Its possible the touch pad may be disconnected from the motherboard but not very likely though.

Broken Button

Hello Roinette,

It is unfortunate to know about that. However as you told that the left click button of the touch pad for you acer laptop has broken or damged, the only way to get it resolved is to get the laptop serviced. As the laptop touch pad and keypad is integrated directly with the mother board it is not possible to fix just that paricular button. The pad must be replaced. Get in touch with the acer technical support , they will replace the pad for you.

Thank you. Best of Luck.
