Polaroid FLM-3232, red power light, then blue power light.

I plug the tv in and the power light is red. I press power and it goes blue. This is all it does. It never actually ''turns on''. Just wondering which part this could be. I am leaning toward the power supply. I believe that I am capable of replacing whatever it may be. Just looking for some reassurance and possibly someplace to get the part.

Thanks,
Dennis

Thanks, but I already found the problem. Kinda common actually. 2 blown caps on the power supply. 4.00 fix.

    Thanks anyway.

    Hi,
We have exactly the same problem.
When you say it was 2 blown caps on the power supply, can you please elaborate ? We're looking down the barrel of a 200 dollar fix if I don't sort it out soon.
    Thanks
    Griff

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem, and am intrigued by your solution.
When you say "2 blown caps" on the power supply. I can only see one cap on my power supply ? Are you talking about the power input on the back of the television ?
My power light goes red, then blue, then the blue light flickers, then stays blue, but the TV does not switch on, so I believe I have the same problem.
anyh help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a red light and thats about it...i have a 32 inch polaroid and it just wont power up

In case of FLM-3232 this can be both the main board and the power board.

I'd say the odds are in your favor that it is the power board - this is the more common scenario.

If you test the board and find that it produces proper primary voltage, though, then the problem is in the main board.

This is also curable sometimes, but unfortunately at least presently we do not offer a repair service for it.

Our Polaroid FLM 3232 has worked for four years and now all of the sudden it won't turn on....seems to be no power supply...the red standby light is not illuminated....please help we love this tv!

I hate to say it, but it is prob the main board that went bad. (the board where all the inputs get plugged into) It is possible that it might be the power supply. One thing to check is to make sure you have 25v coming from the powersupply board to the connectors that plug into the main board. If you do have 24-25v than you will have to replace the main board. If not than the powersupply.

Blue LED light comes on but nothing else happens when turned on

It can be the main board or the power supply, look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

FLM 3232 by Polaroid won't turn on

Usually TV's have that period of time where they'll turn off after an hour or two of no one pressing  a button. If the problem persists, You could get another one and return the old one with the new one's receipt.
