Check for blockage of the air pathway. Check that the fan turns freely, as the bearings or bushings could be shot. The fan blades could also be loose. You might just want to replace the fan, as it is cheaper than replacing bushing/bearings.

SOURCE: bought frigidaire AC. Says remove INTERNAL

that is the internal packaging they refer to, it should be a block of foam that is to be removed. You may have to take off the front cover to get to it.

SOURCE: my ac is not blowing cold air

The unit may be low on refrigerant. There is probably a low pressure switch in the unit to protect the compressor so it wont turn on and get damaged beyond repair. You can take it to your local appliance repair shop and have it looked at. I would get a quote on repair first. Most of the time it is cheaper to buy a new unit than it is to pay just the labor to have it repaired.

SOURCE: My Frigidaire FAX050S7A window mount a/c unit

Hi,
Yes they can leak and will need a recharge....just check first that the leak is very small or can be fixed before spending the money to recharge it...with the low cost of window A/C units you can easily get a repair bill for more then a new one would cost...

Electrolux ac heat/cool window unit blows cold air on heat.

There are a few possible reasons why an Electrolux window AC unit may be blowing cold air when set to heat mode. Here are a few things you can try to fix the problem:
  1. Check the thermostat settings: Make sure that the thermostat is set to "heat" mode and that the temperature is set higher than the current room temperature.
  2. Clean the air filter: A dirty air filter can restrict airflow and prevent the unit from heating properly. Clean or replace the filter according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Check the air ducts: Make sure that all of the air ducts are properly connected and that there are no leaks or blockages.
  4. Check the compressor: If the compressor is not running, the unit will not heat. Make sure that the compressor is running and that the compressor's fan is functioning properly.
  5. Inspect the heating element: Make sure that the heating element is not broken or damaged and check the continuity with a multimeter.
  6. Contact the manufacturer or a professional technician if the problem persists or you are unable to troubleshoot the issue.
Note: Before you start troubleshooting, make sure to turn off the power to the unit and unplug it from the electrical outlet.

I have my brand new frigidaire window ac unit set at 60 degrees Fahrenheit, so why does it only cool and keep the room at 65 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit?

if you have it set at 60 F and it is working at 65 to 68 F then that would be about right
as the air is cooled the cold air falls to the floor and out under the door, open window or anywhere else it can escape
the unit has to be at 80% room height so if it is set in a window then when the cold air gets up to the thermostat or ac level in the window then it will stop cooling
So if the ac unit is say 4ft from the floor and the ceiling height is 8 ft then the ac will only cool the bottom 4 ft
cold air does not rise but falls down
if you are using a ceiling fan then the cold air is stirred up and the 65F sounds about right
remember that the setting temp ( what you set it at) is the lowest temp that it will go down to before it stops cooling and if that is not reached it will keep working to attain that temp and if the room is too big, air leaks under door . around the fit in the window , no insulated walls , hot exterior wall, etc then maybe 65 F is the best you will get

Frigidaire AC window unit, model fam185r2a (18,500 BTU) only cools for a few minutes before it cycles off and just fan blows. Then a few min later cool air cycles back on. Is this a thermostat issue?

The window units normally have a sensor thats attached to the front of the indoor coil. This controls the thermostat. I usually pull this sensor away from the coil because it stops cooling before the room is cool. It is attached to the cold coil so it senses the coil temp, not the room temp. You can normally see it when you remove the air filter. Don't break it! It may be a wire or small copper tube

My air conditioner isnt blowing cold air

is the ac a manual one or automatic? if it's manual then it froze and will no longer work. it froze and is all done working. time for a new one. I bought one 12 years ago and apparently I was suppose to turn on and off. The ac couldn't do that. IF it works on it's own maybe the circuit isn't the higher amp for 220 ac units.

My new ac unit isnt blowing out cold enough

What's the temp been out side? If its over 95 degrees only expect you air to blow at about 75. It's an air conditioner not a cold air maker.
