Same problem. TV wont power on at all. Im thinking its the power supply. I think Im probably screwed since its been a little over one year from purchase.

I have the same problem with my FLM-323B ...No power up. I have decided to junk it. I do not have the time to deal with Polaroid... I have had the LCD for just over a year and it was O.K. for the price, but 12 months of service ...Never again!

  • tkennedy003 Jan 12, 2008

I have the same problem with my polariod flm-323b. they sent the repair to change the control box and it still didn't work. i am now waiting on a replacement. it now has been 3 months i have been without my tv.

  • Anonymous Feb 15, 2008

I took mine in for a repair estimate-$512 but can't get the needed control module. Repairman has been waiting over 6 months for this part for other customers, they had warranty service. My TV broke down just over one year, I'm glad I didn't buy the warranty. The FLM-323B was a nice Tv while it lasted. I tried to find the control module on line but so far, no luck.

  • Anonymous Jun 26, 2008

Polaroid FLM 323B Same problem. Won't turn on. Called Polaroid and tried the new fuse theory. Didn't work. Been investigating this problem and this TV is a nightmare. Local TV repair said they have thrown in the garbage every Polaroid brought in for repair . Seems chance for repair is very slim and Polaroid should be held accountable for this lousy piece of merchandise especially since they don't make new parts readily available and should you be lucky to get one, it costs half the price of the TV. Just not worth it. I think the public should initiate a class action lawsuit and we should get our money back. Dig into this. You'll be surprised how many consumers have been ripped off. This is just happening to too many consumers.

  • gigisoud Sep 07, 2008

Yes, me too. I bought 2 at the same time. 1 was alright, and the 1 not used as much had to go to the repair shop 90 days after I got it. The picture went out and I was without the tv for a month. Now 1 year later, the tv is doing the same thing again. I'm so upset, that they can produce such garbage with such a reputable name.

I TURN TV ON. THE BLUE LIGHT COMES ON BUT TV DOES NOT COME ON. I HAVE TO UNPLUG IT TO KEEP TRYING. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE, SHE SAID TO CHANGE THE FUSE. I CAN NOT GET COMPARTMENT OPEN!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous Oct 31, 2008

Yes, I have the same problem and some of the other problems that people are having with this tv. I have the purple screen and the tv wont turn on unless i unplug it from the wall, wait a few seconds then plug it back in and hurry to hit the power button. Someone mentioned Class Action.... hope to see that come to light. Poloroid wont assist me either.

  • rahoover Nov 25, 2008

I have the same problem. I turn TV on and power light turns blue, but no picture or sound. I was able to disonnect power and reconnect and it would work for approx. 1 week. I called customer service and they said they could send a Technician out for $225. in a couple of days! "ll never buy Polaroid again!

  • Anonymous Nov 26, 2008

I did the repair yesterday. Same problem, blue light no picture or audio. Replaced the capacitors for less than $13.00. Television works great now. If anyone files a class action suit, count me in.

  • Anonymous Nov 26, 2008

Same TV... Today started exhibiting the same symptoms I've seen others
post. Already went to Radiio Shack, got two 1000Uf 35V capacitors, a
solder remover, soldering iron, & silver solder for under $30.
Already did the capacitor replacement and back to watching tv in under
two hours. The photographic details from http://www.fixya.com/support/r741402-pol...
, will keep practically anyone from screwing it up.

FLM-323B same problem, black screen. Checked out the power board and there is no 24v on it. Took the board out, let it cool off, put it back in. Got my TV back for a while, checked for 24v and it is there. Worked for a few weeks, now it's out again. Known issue with Polaroid, and if it's out of warranty, might as well throw it away because they WILL NOT help you. Personally this was my first and LAST POLAROID TV ever, TOTAL JUNK.

Before you throw your TV away in the garbage, just try to fix it yourself!!! I am no genius, and I fixed mine in 1 hour and it cost me 5 dollars and .01 cent to do it! Things you will need...

3 1000 microfarad / 35 volt capacitors (Radio Shack) $1.59 ea.

Phillip Screw Driver (Home Depot)

Needed Nose Pliers (Home depot)

Very small amount of Liquid Nails (Home Depot)
____________________________________________
Okay first: Unscrew all the screws around the perimeter the back panel.

Second: Unscrew the main center screw on the back panel.

Third: Unscrew the two screws on the back panel located by where all the connection are for components.

Fourth: Lift the center plastic panel piece and place it aside: Unscrew the six remaining screws holding the back panel.

Fifth: Lift the back panel and place it aside.

Sixth: Unscrew the three screws in the center metal piece covering.

Seventh: Lift the metal covering and place it aside.

Eighth: Unplug all four plugs connected to the modular. (4" by eight" inches)

Ninth: Unscrew all four screws on the corners of the modular and then remove.

Tenth: look for a small coke can shaped capacitor on the modular. It should read 1000uF35v. Remove that slowly with the needle nose pliers (make sure you pull the wires through completely / there should be two small holes)

Eleventh: Look for two smaller coke can shaped Capacitors and they should read 1000uF10v (they are side by side one another, almost touching) Remove them slowly with the needle nose pliers (make sure you pull the wires through completely / there should be four small holes)

Twelfth: apply Liquid nail on each capacitor and force through the holes where the other ones where located. (Pay attention to the + and - on the capacitor!)

Thirteenth: Let dry for about 30 minutes and trim the remaining wire before replacing parts.

THAT’S IT!!!! It sound hard, but trust me!!!!! IT IS EASY AND IT BEATS BUYING A NEW TV!!! TAKE CARE!!!

  • Anonymous Mar 05, 2011

I think you removed way too many screws. There's only 3 in each the plastic and the metal covers that need to be removed and 4 screws and 3 plugs in the power board. If you removed the whole back cover you removed too much. It might also help to use a soldering gun instead of tearing the board up by breaking the connections pulling on them with pliers and using liquid nails as a connection. Is that even conductive??

  • Tim Hofstetter
    Tim Hofstetter Jul 28, 2014

Rico... Astounding. You suggest not bothering to desolder the capacitors, just ripping them out like a seventeenth-centory dentist? Then you suggest glueing in the replacements without bothering to establish a sound electrical connection? If you owned a TV repair shop, you'd be shot on sight! Liquid Nails. The only upvote I can give your post is that it's unlikely to kill anyone.

These models are known to have power supply problems. Track down the warranty outfit for this and have them send replace the main module.

This is utterly amazing to me! No one called the Attorney General, of their State? I have the 37" Polaroid, u all are having problems with.12 months from the purchase date...The same exact problem, occured! I have no problem what so ever, w/ my 42" Vizio. The sound is MUCH better than the Polaroid, and here's the biggest bonus of all...It still works, Yeayyy! I'm calling the Attorney General...I'll get back to u guys.

Re;37" Polaroid - I can't bel i e v e the amount of people w/the same issue. And no quality control was done. Well, I did fix it. And it cost me 15 bucks. Went to Radio Shack - picked up 2 1000Uf 35V capacitors & a soldering iron. About a half hour later, I was watching TV. If anyone needs help, just email me...and I'll be glad to call u up and walk u through it. [email protected]

The 323B is not a 37" (thirty seven inch) tv. It's a 32"(thirty two inch) tv.

Hello i have sold my tv to a repair man for 80 bucks because he said there is no way possible to fix these televisions.this is crazy right i feel so ripped off its not funny now all im left with are the two holes in my wall where the tv was mounted. :(

  • Anonymous Mar 05, 2011

You're as smart as a box of rocks! Why would a tv repair man buy it if it couldn't be fixed????? You can buy the whole power board for less than $60 now.

If Polaroid would supply schematics for these units it might be possible to repair them to the component level. They just don't care after they've sold it and you're stuck with it. I suggest buying a well known name brand - ask about the warranty and repair service before you buy!!

Bman12- I have or rather had the same problem. I changed the power inverter in the unit (two connections very easy) and problem was solved. Power inverter cost was 179.00 at www.discount-merchant.com. Part no you need is TC 18831F or simply type the part no in web address to find a supplier closer to you. bman, my tv showed the red led on, but would not power on.

I have the same problem, and I found this: Hope this helps: page 17 of the user's guide.
http://www.polaroid.com/service/userguides/ce/lcd_tvs/flm_series_ug.pdf

METHOD B: Use a supplied antenna cable to connect the ATSC signal to the LCD TV’s HDTV AIR terminal. ?? Connect the AC power cord at the back of the TV and connect the power cord to wall outlet. ?? Press the button on the remote to turn on the LCD TV.

This TV is equipped with a safety fuse. In the event of an electrical storm or power outage the safety fuse is designed to protect your TV. If your TV has no power, check the fuse by prying the cover off, following the illustration below. If the fuse is blown, visit your local hardware store and ask for a 4A 250V - 5x20mm Time Lag Fuse (Slow Blow) to replace the fuse. 4A 250V 5x20mm Back of TV Fuse Firm Plastic Prying Tool ?? (Using a metal tool may cause shock)
