Black & Decker Brew 'N Go Coffeemaker: Why is it that 4 out of 5 times I use this the entire inside fills with coffee grounds--the water tank, round "shower head" where water enters the coffee, the housing for the coffee, etc? I have to rinse the entire thing out, which takes too much time! I have tried positioning the coffee filter and filter basket differently--does not seem to help. Thanks!

I've read of this problem from other users of the newer Spacemakers and believe I know what's going on. Black & Decker used too strong a spring in the mechanisms involved in the "sneak a cup" feature which keeps the small tab or finger underneath the basket from opening and allowing the coffee to run into the decanter.
My suggestion would be to make certain that the tab that presses against the bottom of the basket is open when you insert the carafe. Not owning one of these units I can't state categorically that this will solve your problem, but all of the Spacemakers are fundamentally the same, just some cosmetic and design differences between them.
If it turns out that the tab is open when you go to bed and the basket still overflows it's possible the spring is so strong that it's moving the carafe away from the back of the unit, causing the tab to close against the basket. If that's the case I would figure out how to remove the spring without breaking anything in the process, then take it down to your local Ace Hardware and get a same sized but weaker spring. That should solve the problem permanently.

We used to have the same problem! try a better brand of coffee filter! It worked for us? Also make sure that the filters are not doubled up!

We had this same problem and it turned out that the inside if display and circuit board caught on fire and melted inside. File a report with the USCPSC and call Black and Decker. They are sending us a new model free of charge but they are also telling me to send them the coffee pot free of charge wtih postage paid. I refuse to do this for 30 days because the Consumer Product safety commission wants me to keep it for 30 days to investigate

Trash it. The thrift shops and 2nd hand stores are FULL of B&D coffee makers. You can get one that works for $5-15. New at Walmart for $12.
We use one from Black & Decker. Here are a few great options worth looking
into:
Keep in mind, the finished product depends largely on the
type of coffee you start out with more so than the drip machine used to brew
it.
