Black is not working in my brother mfc-240c printer

did you use genunie brother black ink cartridge?

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

I located a page on http://www.fixyourownprinter.com forum, which had plenty of details about similar issues.

Try the forum, there are alot of issues like yours.

I changed the black ink cartridge and the printer

Calibrate your new blank ink cartridge, have some nozzle check, cleaning check, and printer alignment. This are procedure that new ink cartridge will have to calibrate before you use. Epson printer are very sensitive when capable of changing ink cartridge. Unlink HP directly work without any print test because the cartridge head and ink join together, Epson with ink cartridge and the head separate.
Have some test on it at Printer Maintenance.
I'm sure 100% works on it.
Good luck!

Bad printing after changing 2 inks also clicking noise not before

shouldn't be the ink. I assume you have an epson as in the picture. my ink refill kit mentions that "epson intellidge chipped cartridges" require an "ink level resetter" to complete the kit. So if you have these cartridges even once refilled the chip tells the printer the cartridge is still empty so you'll need to reset the chip with the ink level resetter.

Black stripe printing on the BACKS of the printed pages

This happens to me sometimes too, but randomly. I have found if I change it in properties to High quality printing that this disappears. Issue then is that more ink is used...check if you have it on fast print, or custom in the properties menu and try changing it....doesn't work all of the time, but has been helpful

Changed cartidges & now black and blue don't print on C88+

Try to remove and reinstall the blue and black cartridge and check if you punctured the plastic cap underneath the cartridge itself. then reinstall it and make sure you hear a click or it snaps in. try head cleaning cycle from the utility and print a nozzle check pattern. If same output maybe carts are bad. If that is a genuine epson ink cartridge, call epson and have the ink cartridges replace since they are new ones and for sure epson will send inks since you just bought it. make sure you have date of purchase handy.

pls dont 4get to rate solution if it helps... thanks!!
