Restart your computer and then press and hold F8 keys until you get Advanced Options menu screen.Use the arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, and then press Enter, your computer will boot automatically to safe mode.
If you able to start in the safe mode then you need to update all your drivers and install all windows updates from Windows update and scan your computer for viruses! And I also suggest you to run CMD as administrator and write in CMD without quotes"sfc/scannow"
this will fix blue screen error.
If problem still exists, then get the reliable program like PC Fresher to fix your annoying blue screen problem.

My pc has a blue screen but not the blue screen of death

I'd try hitting CTRL+Shift+ESC key and seeing if Windows Task Manager comes up. If so, under the process tab, click on explorer.exe and select End Task, then click on File, New Task, and type Explorer.exe and hit Ok.

Black screen during log in

Try booting in safe mode by hitting F8 every second after you turn it on until the boot screen comes up. Then select "safe mode" If it loads up in safe mode then delete the graphics driver from Device Manager.

If you were able to delete the driver in Device manager then reboot and get the driver from here:

Mouse pointer drfts to the right side of the screen. I have a touch pad and a mouse button on the keyboard. Even when I connected my usb mouse that pointer drifts as well. I'm not able to control the mouse...

see if your touchpad settings have a setting that controls the sensitivity on the area around the touchpad where you rest your hands on the laptop. I forget what it's called, but most laptops have a setting to control that, so when you rest your hands on the laptop it doesn't affect mouse movement. When you rest your hands, if the sesitivity is too high, the mouse pointer will move when you place your hands to rest on that area.

Black screen

That means the Windows "Shell" or Explorer.exe is failing to load. You will have to wipe and reinstall your windows. If you have important data, I suggest you take your machine to a pc shop and have them attempt data recovery.

In windows xp go into start menu, then into control panel then click on appearance and themes, then move your mouse over to mouse pointers click on it , uncheck "enhance pointer precision, and click apply, that will stop the mouse from acting crazy, this will work with dell mouse pointers and most.
