Cdrom drive can not eject / Cdrom is stuck

How To Eject CD from CD-ROM drive if it is Stuck :

If you have a CD into CD-ROM drive and it is stuck and you are trying to eject tray of CDROM by pressing the eject button or windows eject command but CD won't eject as there is no command to eject a stuck compact disc from the CDROM drive then this article is for you.

Step 1: Switch off the computer.

5573fa0.jpgStep 2. On the front of the CD-ROM drive you may find a small hole called Emergency Eject hole below the tray of CD-ROM drive . Take a long pin around 3 inch, (also known as CD ejector) it must be hard enough, insert this pin inside the hole and push a little. The CD tray will slightly move to out.

Step 3: Now you may manually pull the tray and you are done. You have successfully ejected the stucked CD.

Step 4: Switch on the computer and you may work as usual.

Thanks

You can eject a CD in two ways!
1 Simply pressing the button on the right edge of CD drive and drive opens by sliding out
2. Clicking on my computer which shows all the drives C: D: E: etc. C: is hard drive so can not be ejected. Right click on the D or E where ever the CD is and choose eject! That will open the CD drive!
Good luck!

Cd drive wont eject

Try ejecting it through "My Computer". Right click on the drive and select "eject". If you can't locate the drive, then it's probably missing the driver.

Where do I find the eject key to eject a cd from my Dell studio laptop?

Hi,

There should be a button on the DVD/CD drive itself, just push that small button and the tray should eject.
If you can't fine the button double click on "Computer" or "My Computer" highlight the DVD/CD in the list, right click on the DVD/CD and select "eject" from the list.
The tray should now eject.

A dvd is stuck in the drive. It resists all attempts at removal including the ''eject cd'' command in Open Firmware. Can I manually remove it?

The iMac (Slot loading) computer's disc eject mechanism is electrical instead of mechanical. To eject a CD-ROM disc at startup that contains system software, press the mouse button until the computer ejects the disc. If the disc does not contain system software, wait for the iMac to start up and drag the disc icon to the Trash.

If either of these steps fails to eject the disc, push the drive's manual eject button with a small, blunt object like a paper clip. This button is located to the right of the CD/DVD slot as shown in Figure 1. The computer must be turned on to eject a disc in this manner.

ht3007_1.gifFigure 1 Manual eject button

Once the disc is ejected, it extends just beyond its center hole so you can remove it from the drive. If the disc fails to eject, while holding in the paper clip, use another CD to gently push against the inserted CD. This gentle pressure may help to release the inserted CD.

Important: After ejecting the disc with the manual eject button, you must restart the iMac in order for the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive to work.
