How do I make the cartridge move to change position on Epson C44 Plus

I don't have a user manual for my Epson C44 Plus printer and cannot work out how to make the cartridges move to the centre in order to change them. Can anyone advise me please?

To replace an ink cartridge using the maintenance button, follow these steps. Turn the printer on, the power light should be on and not flashing.
Open the printer cover. Press the maintenance button (ink-drop symbol). The print head moves to the black ink cartridge replacement position first. Press the maintenance button again to switch to the color cartridge replacement position.

Change ink

Usually, with an inkjet printer to change the cartridges, open the cover and then press the power button - or the other button, if there is one. Don't be afraid to press buttons ..

The cartridge carrier will then move from its 'parked' position to a more central, accessible position. Unclip the cartridge retaining clip and simply lift the cartridge out. Virtually all inkjet printers work on this principle.

Don't try and manually force the cartridge carrier along from its parked position otherwise you will cause damage.

Red light constantly on

First, disconnect your printer from the power supply socket(not your pc) then after a few minutes, reconnect and see if the printer has reset and back to normal.

Should this fail, uninstall and then reinstall your printer.

Please send feedback if this works thank you.

Remove ink cartridge

I found that the proper way to do it only worked when the ink light was flashing red. Then when I pressed the stop button it moved across and stopped beneath the marker to show which cartridge needed changing. The I pressed the stop button again and it moved to a place where I could change it.
This happened despite the fact that the pictures I was printing blatently showed that I needed to replace my ink, it wasn't until I had printed the liney pictures a few times that the printer decided the ink level was low enough to turn the flashing light on and let me change it.

Epson printer: print head not moving to replacement position

Click on Epson, then Monitor status then Properties then replacement. A page will come up saying To get carriage into position click O.K. on this page. When you do that the carriage moves into position and you can take out the old cartridges and replace them

Won't recognise ink cartridges - shows as empty.

For all cartridge and ink problems, go to my site.

Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.

The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.

For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.

I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.

If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.

Happy trouble free printing
