SOURCE: there is no picture

just a shot in the dark. this reminds me 'bout a problem with a Optoma (or maybe it was a Ask) i fixed. In that setup menu (on the proj), i was able to adjust the sync signal on the input. (I don't mean the the screen refresh rate..)  Just tried gradually step by step. Worked then!

Ihave a Hitachi model L32A403 is it digital ready? OR Ddo ni need a converter box, Cannnot get signal strengh it is grayed out.

According to the specifications, https://www.cnet.com/products/hitachi-l32a403/specs/ , the Hitachi L32A403 has a digital (ATSC) and an analog (NTSC) tuner. Check if the input/source is set to TV. The signal strength information will only be available if you are using the digital tuner. This TV has an Input button on the TV and on the original remote. (It's the second from the bottom on the side of the TV, between the power and menu buttons. On the remote, the Input button is above and to the right of the arrow/Select keys. The Menu button is on the left side of the remote in that same line.) Press the Input button and then use the arrow keys to highlight the desired input; press Select to go to the input. On the TV the Channel Up/Down buttons are the same as the Up/Down arrows on the remote in this menu. The Volume keys will work as Left/Right.

Make sure to set the Channel Source to Air before attempting to scan for channels and check the signal strength. The Channel sub-menu is at the bottom of the list on the On-Screen Menu, after you press that button. However, this menu is not available if the input isn't TV. See the manual here: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/l32a403-hitachi-parts-manual .

Since digital signals are either enough to be seen by the tuner or give no signal, make sure that you use the best antenna appropriate for the distance and frequencies being broadcast in your area. Point the antenna in the correct direction. See http://www.antennaweb.org or http://www.tvfool.com for information on the stations near you. Antennaweb gives a very conservative list even though it assumes an external antenna.

I hope this helps.

Tv stuck on one channel

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

When I rescan my hitachi le42s605 when the cable company redid their digital channels, it cannot find any channels. I keep rescanning with similar results. The cable signal is good.

It sounds that the input signal selection IC is faulty. This IC is at the main board, and will be very difficult to replace to an inexperienced person. Contact any service technician.

I have an older Hitachi 36'' Ultrvision TV. It has worked fine for years up until resently. The problem that I am having is I can not get the direct TV signal to come in. The out from the Direct TV box...

Sounds like you have something in the wrong setting that won't allow the signal to get through. If the video 1 line works OK but regular input will not work, that is almost certainly the problem. I would try just unplugging it (turning it off is not the same thing), let it reset for a few minutes; then plug it back up and see if it will reset by itself. hope this helps.

I have Hitachi CMT 2928FX, I am using AV input 1 on back, great sound, black and white picture that is just out of synch. I do not have the Hitachi remote, I am using the programable remote from DISH TV. I...

May be one of two things. With a standard av input (called Composite Video and usually colored Yellow) then the signal must be 480i, Standard Definition with (i)nterlace. If it is higher, say 1080i (another interlace signal but High Definition), 480p (Standard Definition in (p)rogressive mode), or 720p (another HD in progressive).

Try reseting the Dish receiver by unplugging it for 15 seconds.
