My ac window units are not draining water and creating mold in my house

Check the drain tube between the evaporator side to the back of the unit. It may have a packing plug installed. If there is one remove it or clean the drain tube.

MY AC IS SHOOTING WATER

It's normal for ACs to produce condensation but for a window unit, they need to be installed to allow the liquid condensate to drain outside the room. If it has just started doing this, it's likely that the drain holes are clogged with debris or mold so the water builds up until it can be ejected by the fan.

Black particles coming out of the room air conditioner

dirt, dust, or mold. could also be the tubing insulation flaking off. either way, open it up and clean it out. the dirt, dust, and flaking insulation can restrict air flow through the coils and cause the ac to not function properly. if it is mold, it's can cause sickness (legionaire's disease). do not use chemicals on the coils. it might be best to replace the ac alltogether. to prevent mold: when installing the ac, make sure the unit is slightly tipped towards the outside. any condensation that collects on the coils will drain out. failure to do so will result in water pooling inside, and this can cause mold.

Water draining from window air conditioner runs down the side of the house creating wet basement wall and mold grows inside basement. How to drain away from house?

If the inside is clean and the unit is installed with very minor slope toward the outside, you should not have any water draining. It should get picked up by the fan and blown thru the condenser (outside) coil, evaporating, and helping with the heat transfer. Take the unit out of the window. Take it outside, Remove the outer cover, and wash out the inside - especially the pan in the bottom and any slots where water runs from area to area. Try not to get the electrical control area very wet, if you do let it dry before re-assembly.

Window AC - foul smell

if the unit is cleaned and this smell is only when the condenser is on means the fresh air is open and this smell comes from outside . because the condenser fan is sucking air from condenser through it to motor side .

Have a ge ac in window unit asto5 model leaks inside just recently . connot find any plug to pull for draining outside excess water inside ac cabnit . does it have one? been running this ac all summer and...

No drain plug but this model should have a SLINGER RING AROUND the end of the fan blades which picks up the water & sling it on the back coil which it is so hot & evaporates to help get rid of excess water .. So as for the water running inside, the drain channel are plugging up, from the front coil to the back, & only need to add clorox bleach to the front coil area for now , to kill the slime or mold slowly blocking the channels..But first, TURN_OFF UNIT! (certain times of the year, mold & slime grows rapidily and thats what the bleach for..!

Moldy smell to air

I have a maytag ac unit that kept smelling moldy. We tried spraying with antifungal, only helped for a short time. I took the unit (ac unit slides out of window case) outside and carefully removed screws only to discover the fan was covered in mold!!!! Oh my what a horrible discovery! I washed the fan blades with bleach and water mix. I completely and carefully washed and wiped down the air conditioner careful around the control box. Then I let the unit sit outside in the sun untill completel dry. Good bye mold and fresh clean cool ac!! I will do this each year now that I saw that ugly mold!! That is definetly a health hazard! I would reccommend you either thouroughly clean your unit or pay someone to do it or get a new unit right away!! Don't use that moldy unit another day!! Good Luck!
