Hello aj_vidal22,

Here's the link to MTX's sub page where you can view or download the information you need to properly wire the subs to your amp.

http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/manualsQuickInstall/subs.cfm

For maximum power, you'll need to wire the subs so that they present a 2 ohm load to the sub outputs on your amp. That will give you the full 420 watts RMS the amp is rated for. Likewise, you,ll want the run the front 4-channels at 2 ohms. Run separately, they produce 85 Watts times 4 channels, or if bridged, 130 watts times 2-channels. But if you run fronts at 4 ohms, they only produce 70 watts times 4 channels and your sub output at 4 ohms drops to 210 watts.

Hope this helps.

I have 2 different subs in one box, a 12" MTX thunder and a 12" Kicker CVR. the kicker is a dual voice coil while the MTX I dont believe is. Can I use one amp for this set up? And how would it be wired?

im guessing both speakers are 4 ohms ..mtx 4ohms and kicker dual 4ohms..now if your amp can go down to 1 ohm wiring the kicker dual coils in parallel (2ohms) and the mtx connected together (4ohms) should leave you with a final impedance between 1 and 2 ohms ...i suggest you use one or get another

Can you bridge 2 4 ohm kicker speakers to a mtx thunder 7801 amp?

Ya. Just hook one sub to your amp (bridged) and hook the other sub (positive and negative) to the first subs positive and negative

I got a cadence q 4000 and i what a the bass to sound louder

the Q4000 only funs 400 max and thats at 4ohms bridged 2x200 if you need high powered amps i would look at soundstream or MTX and you would need atleast 1 secondary battery cause to max a amp out you need to have constant 14.4 volts going to power the amp.

How can i bridge a mtx 9500 using a mono amp?

You cant bridge it to the MONO AMP . You can only bridge subs & speakers to 2 CH & 4 CH AMPS that are bridgeable. Because if it appears that there is 2 channels on a Mono amp its so its convenient for you to hook up 2 4ohm subs to it easily But both channels are actually connect internally together in parallel inside the amp unlike a 2 channel they are separate.

So just connect your mtx 9500 to a plus and a minus and doesnt matter which since all the + terminals of are connected together and - are connected together already.

Whats important is on the side of the sub/box it reads 2 ohms. The lower the ohms the more power the Mono amp will put out. Mono amps are designed to handle 2ohm loads.

If it reads 4ohms The MONO amp is the wrong amp to use cause the power will be weaker. So if you have a 1000 Watt Mono amp at 4ohms the sub will only get 500 WATTS Max while a 2 ohm will get the full 1000 Watts.

If it reads 4 ohms connect it to a 2CHANNEL AMP and BRIDGE IT (connect + of the sub to 1st channels positive of the amp then connect - of the sub to 2nd channels negative of the amp) . The power will be doubled when you bridge it on a 2 channel amp. NOW if it was a 2 ohm sub and you bridged it to the 2 channel amp it will fry the subs and ruin the amp. 2 CHANNELS CANT TAKE A 2OHM LOAD BRIDGED OK.

Can i bridge this hifonics amp

If you don't know if the amp is bridgeable, then I wouldnt do it. It could already be bridged internally and bridgeing it through the speaker terminals could be disatrous, i.e. the infamous blue smoke of death. The amp looks like a 2 channel amp fromt he pic and you have two speakers you are trying to power with it. So the safest bet would be to just unbridge your speakers and hook them each up to the amp as normal. No blue smoke. Good luck!

2 MTX Thunder Problem.. Bridging?

Is there a option on the chanels that say ''Bridged''? If so, you can hook the subs up in parellel or series to get different ohm loads. Usually the lower ohms, the more power amp puts out. Those subs can handle 225 watts RMS whitch means the power it can handle constantly. If the amp gives more than 225 watts RMs, you could be at risk of blowing the sub. If you could give me the model # of the amp, I can be of more help.

2 channel amp with 2 Kicker Cvrs 15"

Assuming the amplifier is 2 ohm mono stable... the amplifier is bridgeable... and the subwoofers are Single 4 Ohm Voicecoils, You would wire them as follows....

Both + on Both subs to the + bridged terminal on the amplifier.
Both - on Both subs to the - bridged terminal on the amplifier.

This will net a 2 ohm mono load for your amplifier.

If you have something different - let me know... and I will give you the proper wiring for what you have.

What is best amp to run 2 12 inch cvr's

12In Kicker CVRs
are Dual Voice Coil, and You can run each voice coil around 200 Watts RMS

So each sub will have a 400 Watt RMS and 800 Watts peak.

Now since you have 2, Your total will be 800 Watts RMS and 1600 Watts Peak.

I would get really any amp that sits at around 800-1000 Watts RMS.

These are kicker but they are low end so i wouldnt push them to the extreme.

1000-1200 Watts RMS Max and but keep the Gain down on the amp. They will hit no doubt but i wouldnt push these subs or you will be disapointed in the long run.

I would get a Fosgate or MTX amp.

You can get any amp really but find something right around 1000 Watts RMS and it will push those well.

You can go mono block or a 2 channel, just depends on how you want to wire them.

Be careful though. If your running them bridged right now with your mono block, do not run them parallel bridged on a 1000w RMS Amp, you will blow them so fast lol

(RMS = Root Mean Square. Or in other words is the continuous wattage being sent from the amplifier to the subwoffers)

Knocking noise with my kicker compvr 15"

comp VR 15s are rated @ 500W RMS 1000Peak.
The lanzar vibe amplifier is 2 x 600W RMS at 4 OHMS 2 x 1200W MAX at 4 OHMS 1 x 2400W MAX at 4 OHMS Bridged 2 x 1000W at 2 OHMS RMS.
Your subs are single 4 ohm subs.
If your subs are wired stereo, they both are seeing 600W. (more than the rated RMS)
Chances are, you have them wired parallel to a 2 ohm mono load - of which that amplifier is not rated. In theory, it will produce about 2000W @ 2 ohm mono for a short period of time.
Your amplifier is too powerful for your subs. Turn down the gain setting to 3/4 or purchase better subs. Also be sur the subs are inthe proper enclosure. It sounds as if they are excurting past their linear x-max and colliding with the rear bump plate. This will cause damage down the road if left as is.
