What happens when you try to set the watch? Do you know that the crown can be pulled out two notches? The first notch only operates the hour hand. This is for easy changes if you are going from one time zone to another. Pull it out two notches and you should be able to set the watch normally.
Other features can be reset. Let me know if you need help.

Press the "Next" button on the side of the watch to scroll through the settings menu until you reach "Reset."
Press the "Mode" button to select "Reset." The display will show "Yes" and "No."

Note: Resetting your Timex 637 T5G951 WR 30 heart monitor will erase all your saved data and settings, so you will need to set it up again after the reset. If you need to keep your data, consider transferring it to another device before resetting the watch.
I would think it is the sensor circuit in the watch. When you replaced the battery did you activate the processor all reset for the watch? I do not know on your model where or how this would be activated.
Electronic watches normally have a reset procedure for when the battery is changed. Very important the watch's processor reset is performed after changing the battery. This is not any of the user readings reset. This is a reset for the watch's processor and system. It is sometimes a contact that has to be shorted out with the jeweler's screwdriver, or it is a contact that has to be shunted, or etc., depending on the model. Maybe if you call the support for the watch they will tell you this. Normally they do not like the user opening the watch.
There is a reset procedure for most LCD watches to reset the LCD after installing the battery. It is different for every watch brand and movement (inner works). I recommend visiting your local Certified Master Horologist for proper battery and resetting procedure.
Improperly resetting any digital watch by shorting the wrong connection can essentially short out the movement, and the movement / watch must then be replaced, whichever is least expensive.
I went to the lorus web site which has user manuals for all their watches. Went through the relivent manual whcih gave details on how to reset the stop watch facility.
let's call the top stopwatch button "a" and the bottom stopwatch button "b." eg, for normal stop watch function press "a" to start timing, press "a" to stop timing, and press "b" to reset.
to reset: press button "a" and "b" simultaneously and release (an easy way to do this is press and hold down "b" then press "a" and release both). this will send both hands spinning. next press "a" intermittently until the second-hand is back to it's desired reset location. then, likewise, press "b" intermittently until the minute hand is zeroed. now with both hands at the correct reset location, again press and release "a" and "b" simultaneously to save these resets and return the watch to normal function mode.
You do not need to return the watch. It has self adjusting features (operated by the owner). Pull out crown to the first click, then push and hold the pushbutton at 2 o'clock to adjust the hand. When done - push crown back in. If it doesn't work, pull out crown to the second click and do as described above.
