I am vacuuming spackle dust from sanding walls and my electrolux canister continues to open. What should I do?

Fine dust from sparkle will clog a bag or filter very quickly even though the bag is not full or even close to full. The air can't pass through the bag so it is popping the door open. Drywall dust can ruin a vacuum motor very quickly. I use a shop vac style vacuum with a cartridge filter that still clogged up after just a few minutes of vacuuming the dust but I can take the filter outside and hit it against something and use a small soft brush to clean it.

My Nilfisk GU305 cuts out after a few minutes use

You are probably right. There is not enough air flow around the motor. It uses the air from the vacuum as the cooling air.
There is a secondary filter after the first filter bag. You may think the bag is not full and don't think you need to change. Sometimes the material you vacuum is so fine that it will clog the filter bag. I've done it vacuuming sheetrock sanding dust. Then just below the main filter is the secondary filter. Depending on the age and amount of use, there could be other problems. Motor brushes about to fail. A wire connection that separates as temperatures rise. Then reconnects when "cool". Plug end may be a problem. Its connection to the switch. The switch it'self could be.

Dyson problems

I have a DC-07 Animal and I have taken it apart many a time and cleaned at least the plastic parts. Its all modular. I would just make sure nothing is clogged.. Remember the Hepa filter is not washable just the sponge filter. So if you took out the filter and left in the Helpa filter I would order a new Hepa filter - its probably clogged by now! Beat of luck!

Water want come out

Clean sand granules out of the motor! the problem appears to be sand granules from the sand filter jamming the "pulse motor", unplug take the water cart off, unscrew the back cover, the one with the label (6 crosspoint screws) beware the 2 long ones holding the end! inside the cover there is a small bulge, next the pipe,, unscrew 3 screws these it reveals the motor squeeze the pipe clip slide back pull forward, to release motor blow through, the tiny hole backwards, until clear, you may have to use a blunt toothpick! to release, the stuck granules...Blow, blow, then reassemble

Sander disc no longer "sticks"

Most commercially made disc sanders have replacements pads whether they are hook and loop type or the rubber. If you go to the manufactures web sit and look up your sander, it will usually be listed somewhere. But you might have to call an authorized repair center to find the part number to order.

Recently purchase SC-N500 vacuum cleaner. Worked well only the first 2 times I used it to clean up plaster dust from floor after sanding. Since then it has not worked at all well wiht very poor suction....

This type of vacuum is not designed to vacuum up sheetrock
dust or pieces of sheetrock. The dust from sheetrock is so fine it will clog the vacuum bag, filters and possible the motor

So change the bag, use an air hose to blow out the motor area and
the hoses make sure that air hose has in line filter to catch moisture
