    huh, organization
    wrong word there

  • Anonymous Mar 02, 2019

    the word is optimization
or better , 99% of users see no better performance with that upgrade. A fact!
a HDD to SSD upgrade, is 10x better.
even better than that OP tell the helper what was slow first doing what.
    then we work that angle,
PCs are complex what if the problem is cheap and easy free fix.?
are you gaming and dream of 1 easy fix to make a $60 game run right? oops (if yes)

that is correct, never let facts get in the way of progress...LOL a joke to the OP
not Ryan, you nailed it Sir.
in fact the BIOS must support your CPU
and the limited clock rates all PCs have
and the processor must be in the qualified
    list of processor allowed.
only Acer.com has that information, not us.
and acer does (peepee)poor job of that.
    unlike say ASUS.
also you will have to update the BIOS
for then newer processor to work if infact the BIOS update (details)page says it does
    so call them ask them.

worse yet this is only TOY grade PC
better PC have a huge list of qualifed processors even fastest Core i7-9nnn
    best is leave it alone,
the OP never once told of one APP that ran slow
    not a clue at all.
but if it needs more power buy a real PC.
ok, or buy used gaming PC.

    i build them. (ground up)

I have a Acer AX1200-U1510A AM2+ Motherboard and i would like to upgrade the processor, ihave 4 gigs of mem and a 1 gig Gigabyte Gt 610 graphics card. I only have a 240 watt power supply what processo

Should work with a processor of the same socket type. I'd seriously upgrade the psu myself. Personally I'd upgrade the motherboard and processor to a quad core, and get the fastest ram, look at ebuyer.com, you can buy a bundle upgrade package for less than you may think. :)

1.) Pentium M 780 Processor - 2.26 GHz, 2MB, 780, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB (fastest upgrade)
2.) Pentium M 770 Processor - 2.13 GHz, 2MB, 770, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB
3.) Pentium M 760 Processor - 2.0 GHz, 2MB, 760, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB
4.) Pentium M 750 Processor - 1.86 GHz, 2MB, 750, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB
5.) Pentium M 740 Processor - 1.73 GHz, 2MB, 740, Pentium-M Dothan, 533FSB (slowest upgrade)

You can buy these processors from Dell Spareparts or otherwise from a 3rd party store.

Hope this helps!

Uppgrade of a processor

The processor upgrade defends on your motherboard if it supports a processor like Core2Duo, because it all depedns on the motherboard if you can upgrade processor and RAM ,if you buy a new processor and its not supported by your motherboard it will be a wast, but if your computer manufacturer told you that your motherboard can supports a processor like Core2Duo go ahead upgrade to it , that will definitely make teh computer faster and better sicne Core2Duo is a high end processor right now..

Hope that helps...........

Upgrade

As your processor is very old, to buy an upgrade would be more expensive than buying a new computer. There are not many of the socket 370 type processors around, if at all. Your motherboard will not drive any of the newer processors.
Sorry
