Let X = cost of TV. Let Y = cost of mini component. You said that both together cost 17500, so X + Y = 17500. You also said that the TV cost 1500 more than the component, so X = Y + 1500. If you combine both equations, you get (Y + 1500) + Y = 17500. Simply reduce this equation to 2Y + 1500 = 17500, which reduces to 2Y = 16000, which reduces to Y = 8000. Using either of the first 2 equations, if Y = 8000, then x must be equal to 9500. The TV cost 9500 and the component cost 8000.

What is the percentage increase of this equasion 5690+950=6600?

Math homework, but an English lesson involved: Proper spelling is "equation."

Offhand I see possibly that we need to set up to solve 5690/6600= X/100 and cross-multiply, then solve for X

Do again for 950/6600=Y/100 and cross multiply. Solve for Y.

At least we get to put something together that replaces the original equation with X%+Y%=100%

Now, I am leading up to Y% is the percentage change, but I need to bone-up on that point myself. Perhaps I have triggered the thought juices.

A pair of running shoes costs $5.00 more than a pair of regular tennis shoes. The total cost for both is $115 Find the price of the regular tennis shoes

You will never learn any mathematics if you do not solve math problems. I am here to do your homework. I will however help you set the problem up.
1. Define variables (unknowns).
2. Let t be the price of the tennis shoes
3. Let r be the price of running shoes.
Translate the text into mathematical expressions
A pair of running shoes costs 5$ more than a pair of tennis shoes
5 $ more ---> ... +5
Cost of a pair of running shoes (r) = cost of a pair of tennis shoes (t) +5
So the first statement can be expressed as r=t+5

The total cost of both ------> Sum of the costs r+t
The total cost of both is 115 $ ------> r+t=115

Now you have a system of two linear equations in two unknowns
( r=t+5
)
(r+t=115
There are a few methods to solve the system (comparison, substitution, or combination/addition/elimination). I gave the 3 possible names for the third methods.
Choose a method and solve the system to find t and r.
Note: Although all three methods, if carried out correctly, will give you the same solution (t,r), one of them should be preferred. It is worthwhile to recognize immediately which method should be favored depending on the system you are dealing with.

Six pears and three apples cost $3.90. Two pears and five apples cost $3.30. How much does one pear cost?

Let p be the cost of a pear, and a the cost of an apple.
First statement
6p+3a=3.90 OR 2p+a=1.3 (I simplified by 3)
Second statement
2p+5a=3.30

Solve the system.
I suggest you multiply the first equation by (-1) then add side to side. You will be able to find a. Plug the value of a in one of the original equation and solve for p

Guardian Ultra Source 17,500 Watt Emergency Power System - 4583: donot have a problem am wondering the dependabilit...

These are obviously opinionated answers however, I have had mine wired to my home for approximately 9 years and have had only 1 issue where a voltage regulator failed. The new regulator cost me just over $100.00 and was easy to replace. I crank my generator once every couple of months by adding about 1/2 gallon of fuel and let it run till empty. Never use fuel that has Methane as this fuel absorbs water and will damage fuel components if you leave fuel in your generator. If you leave empty as I do, it has had no effect thus far.

The total cost of C of producing n articles per hour in a factory is given by the formula C = a + bn where a and b are constants When 10 articles are produced the total cost is 320 when two are produced...

For this type of problem, a equals the constant cost of operation (monthly rent..etc) and b equals the cost to manufacture the items.

first equation: 320 = a + b(10)
second equation: 520 = a +b(20)

320 = a + 10b
520 = a + 20b subtract equation 2 from equation 1

-
200 = -10b divide by -10

20 = b plug b into one of the equations

320 = a +(20)(10) multiply

320 = a +200 subtract 200

120 = a

Let me know if i need to explain further.

4 spoons and 3 forks cost $15. 4 spoons and 1 fork cost $13. Find the cost of five forks.

Hi romanam
If spoon is "s" and fork is "f"
you get 2 equations like:
4s + 3f = 15 equation 1
4s + 1f = 13 equation 2
Equation (1) - equation (2) gives :
2f = 2 which means
1f = 1 (dividing both sides by 2)
! fork costs $1
5 forks cost $5
