I bought a palm treo 650 fully flashed to cricket network on ebay. My problem is that I can't get the internet working. The man I bought the phone from guarenteed the internet to work but it doesn't. I have tried [email protected] password cricket, changed proxy, and everything. I still keep getting the same message- ''error: please check your user name and password and try again. mobile service provider may not support dial up connections''
this is what I tried already:
Go to “PrefsNetwork” and press “Menu” or tap top left of screen and select “ServiceNew.”
i. Service: Cricket Web
ii. Connection: High Speed Wireless
iii. User Name: [email protected]
iv. Password: cricket
If that does not work try this:
In the phone menu go to 'Prefs' icon then click on 'Network',
then click the pull down menu and under 'Service'click 'New':
(If it is locked here click preferences then click edit and then click modify.)
Then enter these:
Service:mycricket
Connection:High Speed Wireless
User Name:[email protected]
Password:cricket (all lowercase)
Then at the bottom click the 'Details' button and unclick 'Mobile IP:' Now click 'Advanced' and make
sure both 'IP Address:' and 'Query DNS:' ARE checked.
Now click 'OK', 'OK' and 'Done'.
Next go to Menu and the 'web' icon. It will try to connect but cancel it, the 'Blazer' browser needs
configured first. With 'Blazer' up, click the pull down menu and go to 'options' then 'Preferences'. For
now, change the home page to 'http:/yahoo.com'. Then while still in 'Preferences' click the 'Advanced' tab
and click 'Set Proxy'. Click 'Use custom proxy' and for 'Proxy Server' enter: wap.mycricket.com port:8080
That should do it. The only other thing left to do is
to add the internet to your Cricket plan, then dial
*228 once that's done. It takes about 10 mins
afterwards for it to work.
Or you can sign up after you connect for the 1st time on the phone
SOURCE: Trouble sync'ing with two computers
Hiya, I manage to sync with both home and work, I upgraded to a Treo 650, and sync'd at home, then deleted my work user, and sync'd at work... and it's worked fine. I'm able to add tasks, events, apps etc either at home or work, and they successfully sync with the other machine. The only issue I've had is once or twice, my photos have doubled up, but that hasn't happened often. hth David
SOURCE: Palm One Sprint to Cricket Treo 600
This is a problem with the Treo 600's, because the phone is starting to get old and isn't compatible with some gsm providers anymore.
When it is happening, perform a soft reset (push the reset button on the back). Occasionally this helps, but NOT all the time.
Your best bet is to upgrade to a later model treo, like the 680.
