Service engine, abs, trac off

The service engine light does not affect the abs.You most likely have a broken wire in your abs system which is affected by suspension movement.A code reader which does abs codes will tell you which wheel circuit is turning on the abs light. When there is no abs available the track will turn off.

My 2000 Pontiac Grand Am has been sputtering for a while, it has trouble gaining speed and will miss several times while driving. Once the RPMs catch it will gain speed, but it still misses. My ABS light...

This may be totally off base but my 2002 Lesabre with the 3.8 litre engine was running like this and it was the ignition control module. It is under the coil packs. The engine would start ok and idle ok but run like heck when trying to drive it. Are you getting any codes? Mine was random misfiring. The ignition module was about $150 and relatively easy to replace. Make sure everything is clean when it goes back together.

I don't know why the abs and trac off lights are going on and off unless there is a short somewhere.

hope that helps. if not repost your problem.

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix... The Abs

the trac shuts off when theres a check engine light or a abs light on, most likely theres a bad abs wheel sensor but you will have to have the abs computer scaned to find out which one it is. hope this helps.

After start up, engine, trac off, abs, and service engine soon light come on. vehicle runs normal.

trac off abs light , the problem is in one of the wheel bearing, that is where the sensor is.

Abs light, trac light, service engine soon light 2001 Pontiac Grand Am

Sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor. You need to have it scanned. Since it's been sitting, it might just be a bad connection to one of the speed sensors.

I have a 2000 pontiac grand am gt - the abs, low trac ,service engine soon light comes on

the most common thing that causes this problem, other than spinning in mud, is a wheel speed sensor. the best thing for you to do is get your car scanned. autozone offers free scanning. i have seen many hub bearings go bad, come loose and cause this. if the problem comes and goes the hub is likely the culprit. i have also seen cracked abs rings cause this at higher speeds, i have also seen the harness running to the rear wheels torn out from running over tree limbs. i would definitely start with a scan to narrow down possibilities and save you money done by guess work. you can try jacking up each wheel and shaking to ensure that all bearings are tight. if you have access to a oscilloscope you can backprobe each sensor while spinning the wheel and find which one is breaking down.. hope this was helpful... dustang

Trac off light

chances are its a bad sensor for the traction control...that would make it bog down because the car think the tires have started to spin n lowers its rpm level to bring the car back in control...even though the cars tires arent spinning...check and replace.
