Casio TE-8500F "Paper Jam Error"

I have a Casio TE-8500F that is having a problem with a constant "paper jam" error. The printer seems to be functioning just fine and the error message will go away once I open the printer. Upon closing it, the printer functions and the error message returns. I have had a pro look at this and he was not able to ascertain the cause of this. I have read online in another forum about someone who had this problem, and simply changed out the back up battery and the issue was resolved. Anyone know anything about this one, or where I can purchase a new battery? Thanks!

Hi.
It won't have anything to do with the battery. There was a known issue with the early printers in this series. The first one I had did my head in. I battled it for hours and then found out that there was a design fault in the printers (not Casios fault as the printers are made by another Co.) It is easy to tell if you have the early version or the second version with modification. The two easiest ways to tell are:

If the model number is printed on a little silver badge or just painted accross the panel. Badge = second version

Have a close look at the receipt printer. If it has a small motor on the end of it (closest to the front of the machine) then it is the second (fixed) version.

Let me know. If you are not sure, then take a photo of the machine and send me a link to it.

Epson Artisan 835. Just set up. Printed fine. Tried to eject DVD/CD tray. Did not eject. I turned off unit. Turned back on. Now constantly says I have a paper jam when there is none. Cannot use.

Hi. I Have an Epson printer too and become to send the paper jam error when there not a paper jam on the printer. Check the ink cartrige bay with the printer off. The ink cartrige bay have to stay all the way to the right. If not push carefully to the right. Start again the printer and see what happens. This cause in certain ocassions the paper jam error. I hope this tip can help.

Paper jam

The way you describe your error, it seems that there is still some residual paper stuck inside the printer that may cause subsequent paper to be mis-aligned.

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

Msg is paper jam when there is no paper jam

I had what seems to be a similar problem and the issue was that the rubber "feet" that grab the paper weren't grabbing anymore. So, I constantly got a paper jam reading. I read elsewhere to wipe some glass cleaner/ammonia on the "feet" so that they become "sticky" again. When I did this, the "Feet" or rubber semi-circle parts that rotate around a metal bar then started to correctly grab the paper again and the error stopped.

Paper Jam

There is a small clear plastic sheet that is suppose to be in front of the black friction pad in the paper tray. if that sheet is under the pad instead of in front of it you will get this error.
