This crib was recalled in 2009. I had bought it for grandchildren and then put it in my barn (for just in case). Kids told me to check recall list and of course it is listed as a recall. tried taking it back to walmart, since they do not have a barcode for the crib they will not take it back. is there somewhere that will exchange this crib for me? The 800 phone number listed on the crib is no longer in service

SOURCE: how can i get replacement parts for a simplicity crib 8994w ..
This company went out of business and I was unable to contact anyone about ordering parts or manuals. Unfortunately the new company that bought them, isn't taking responsiblity for any Products from the original Manufacturer.
Note, the website phone number and email are non working.
However, I did get a number to a person at the Blackstreet Captial Partners, who help in the purchase of the company. This is the communcations dept. Ask for Don Meyer 202-898-0995.

No. The cribs being recalled are made by StorkCraft but any crib with a drop side that has plastic parts could pose a problem. Make sure the side latches securely and that the space between the side and themattress is not large enough for a child's head to get trapped.
This recall involves Stork Craft drop-side cribs and Stork Craft drop-side cribs with the Fisher- Price logo. This recall does not involve any cribs that do not have a drop-side. This recall does
not involve any cribs with metal rod drop-side hardware. It involves only those cribs with plastic
trigger and one-hand-system drop-side hardware.
This recall includes Stork Craft cribs with manufacturing and distribution dates between January
1993 and October 2009. This recall also includes Stork Craft cribs with the Fisher-Price logo that
have manufacturing dates between October 1997 and December 2004. The Stork Craft cribs with
the Fisher-Price logo were first sold in the U.S. in July 1998 and in Canada in September 1998.
SOURCE: is simplicity 4 in 1 crib recall please let me
No this one is not. It is the cheaper made ones with the dropside. The pieces are breaking and kids are getting trapped. I had one of those and got this one after the recall the first time. It is safe. There is no dropside so just make sure the hardware is in their tight and you will be fine.
