I am trying to replace electrical cord on Genesis Hydrovac extreme vacuum cleaner and can't separate two outer casing/housing elements ( only two screws).

most likely if leaking at the connection is the hose tight on connector. It is leaking where you can see it make sure and when you look at it the leak is it before or after the hose connection?
There is a seal or an O-ring somewhere that is bad. Replace and restore pressure it should work. Where the most water comes out is where i would start.
