A family I go to church with, purchased a Frigidaire Gallery Series model #GLHS37EHB7 S/N 4A94210182 from Aaron's rent to own. Three and half years after the purchase, the fridge stopped working. It had intermittent issues and were repaired under warranty, but since the fridge was paid off six months ago the family was told it is no longer under warranty and they are out of luck. This family consists of a Grandpa and Grandma raising 6 orphaned grandkids. They are not wealth by any means and spent good money purchasing a fridge that would work for their family only to have an inoperable appliance in their kitchen. Refrigerators are suppose to last for at least 10 years if not more. Is there a remedy for this family? Does anyone know who I can contact so that I can explain the situation for this family? This family has a very low income, and they are trying to do their best to raise the kids. Truly this is a very unfair situation. Are there any recalls on the parts? At this point they can't afford the repairs on the fridge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THanks

SOURCE: Good day, i have a

Hello gholwell,

Here are some tips for no ice:
1: Frozen Fill Tube
These units have the fill tube in the freezer ceiling that can keep freezing up. The cure is to replace the existing fill tube with a new kit, consisting of a modified fill tube and a fill tube heater. You can buy it here. This, of course, assumes the icemaker and level sensing circuitry are attempting to function normally. You can test the icemaker by manually initiating a harvest cycle. Do this by pulling the front cover off the icemaker and jumpering out test points T and H with an insulated wire. You can find more info HERE.

2: Bad Optics Circuit Boards
If the red status LED is not lit on your ice level sensor receiver, then you may have bad optics circuits. Close the freezer door and wait five minutes, then open it back up. If still no status light, then you need to replace the optics boards, emitter and receiver. You can buy them here.

As for the water problem, this is usually caused by one of the following:
- Inadequate water pressure.
- Kinked tubing anywhere between the valve and the dispenser outlet.
- Dissolved air or gases in the water supply.
- The slight expansion and contraction of the reservoir as it warms and cools.

In any case, since your fridge is just 6 months old, it will still be under warranty. It will be best to contact the point of purchase or manufacturer directly.

SOURCE: Fridge on the Fritz

sounds as if perhaps theres a fan in the freezer, copartment that is not spinning, circulating the cold air around, or if that fan is spinning you have adefost issue, not "self defrosting so the ice is building up preventing proper circulation

SOURCE: Fridge stopped working, freezer still works

HI
If the compressor doesn't run, it is likely that the defrost timer is malfunctioning. This part is located near the compressor. To test the defrost timer:

Step 1:
Unplug the refrigerator.

Step 2:
Disconnect the wires from the timer and timer motor. Remove the timer from its brackets by backing out two retaining screws.

Step 3:
Test the defrost timer with a VOM set to the RX1 scale. Clip one probe of the VOM to each defrost timer -- not motor -- wire, and turn the timer control screw shaft until it clicks. If the defrost timer is functioning, the meter will read zero. If the needle jumps, the defrost timer is faulty. Replace it with a new one of the same type.

Step 4:
Connect the new defrost timer the same way the old one was connected.

To check the defrost timer motor, clip one probe of the VOM to each motor wire, setting the scale to RX100. If the meter reads between about 500 and 3,000 ohms, the motor is functioning properly. If the meter reads higher than 3,000 ohms, the timer motor is faulty. Replace it with a new one of the same type. Connect the new motor the same way the old one was connected.

What is the model number of the refrigerator. looks like it is in the upper right corner of the fresh food section. If you go to frigidaire.com you can get the owners manual.

SOURCE: Our freezer just apparently stopped

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. All the cooling comes from the freezer side. So if the fresh food side is working then the freezer is only producing enough to allow the temps to be around 38 degrees. Do you notice any frost on the freezer back wall? Its possible its a defrost issue. Can you hear the fan Running in the freezer when the compressor is on? If these all seem fine then I would say you have a sealed system issue. Either a leak or bad compressor. Since its only a few months old call for factory service it should have a one year warranty on parts and labor.

Frigidaire gallery professional series oven I have

Good Afternoon John, I am happy to assist you!

I understand you are seeking a manual and I'm assuming your model number is GLEFM397DS, posted above. If so, I have located the Owner's Guide on the manufacturer website. Here you will be able to access step by step instructions on how to operate the oven. I hope this information helps to some degree. If there is anything else that I can help you with, please feel free to reconnect!

I have an E20 code on my front loading Frigidaire gallery series washing machine, what does this mean and how does my husband fix it. Also, has anyone had problems with the matching dryer destroying...

That E20 could be a bad pump or clogged pump screen. Remove and clean out the tub to pump hose. Look for object in pump. A clogged airline to the pressure switch can also give the E20 code. The switch thinks there is still water in the tub when in fact there is crud in the end of the hose.
Hope this helps!
